OK I think 3 of those were done/agreed before the end of the season. My point is that with the jeopardy of relegation and our unstable finances targets being identified early probably wasn't as simple for us as it was those 4 teams. But generally speaking, just to be clear and avoid a pile on, not much business has been done so far, in my opinion. Let's focus on our rivals and so far Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd have all been relatively benign in the market 😀
'Our rivals' ....sad but true

Callum Wilson, Pope, Robertson, Maguire, Jagielka, Milner, Parker, Wijnaldum, Roy Keane!

Loads of teams have made good signings from relegated teams.
Right. It was nearly us down there. If that had happened then two of our relegated players would be of interest to teams in the top 6 of the Premiership and a handful of others....including McNeil, Doucs etc....would be of interest to teams in the bottom half

If we had players that were as consistent as tarkowski, Pickford and McNeil (once dyche took over) all over the pitch. We wouldn't have finished anywhere near 17th.

Relegated players aren't always bad, sometimes they are. But we shouldn't be turning our noses up just because they were relegated.
Pickford is the only player in our entire squad that was better than "fine", this season. McNeil and Tarkowski were ok but no better than that. Of course there are players in relegated clubs that are better than what we have, but our long, long history of overpaying for mediocre "premier league proven" players is why we are where we are. The fact that we are linked exclusively with UK based players is as unsurprising as it is depressing. Thelwell and co are completely unsuited to a modern PL club, which is why they are with us, a club stuck in another era that has been left behind.

Agree 100% with what you are saying but the whole "PL experience" thing has gone on under different managers and different DoF. The only other constant involved are the board and Dan Purdy who is our head of recruitment, who did get sacked briefly then was rehired for some reason. Purdy has spent time at Leeds which could explain some of the links there but I largely think it comes from the boardroom myself.

Would say mcneil had more than an ok season but understand what you hve said. I think it will be a mix of players we have prob looked at the likes of harrison, Summerville because of relegation price in the contracts. The one player linked that Gyökeres who looks like coventry trying to make a team overpay for him. When we could get better value outside of england
