Agents fee and player signing on fee/wages are apparently massive so I don't think he will be coming here. They won't accept anything less than £30mill. Us spending upwards of £20mill on him isn't smart. Especially when Moussa Demebele is available for free.
Well they can sign me if they want. I fall over the football in the garden in the past when playing with the kids. I’m 49 now, it killed me to run for 26 minutes on the treadmill before. I’ll happily do it for a one time sale offer of £40k a week. I can play in a few positions which will come in handy for the training session 3 and in or if we have practice matches and it’s goalie in and out (or for the Wools ‘fly goalie)Ha in all seriousness...I don't think we've ever be further away from signing a player in our history, especially with the board upheaval and the lack of dosh at the minute.
Yes you are wrong. How can you write 303m in losses in 3 years, and then say "we're still gonna be crawling towards £105mill rolling 3 year losses"? We dont get to go backwards in time and 303m is WAY more than 105m. The only way ANY of that makes sense is if the FFP losses are nowhere close to the total accounts losses, which is literally what I've been saying. Again, if you don't understand how it works that's fine, but then stop pretending you do and needlessly confusing other people.Maths. And I maybe wrong but...£430million losses over 5 years.
Last 3 years
£139mill loss (2019/20)
£121mill loss (2020/21)
£43mill loss (2021/22)
No matter how you add player sales into the equation we're still gonna be crawling towards £105mill rolling 3 year losses.
Take into consideration the Gordon sale clearing last year's loss. Puts us at zero. We ain't then got £50mill net to spend, hence why we need to sell to buy. While there's drop of £70odd mill from the previous year...it's still not enough for us to have "net" spends that high. Maybe £50mill spread over the next couple of years.
VirginiaAs far as I can figure out our senior squad is as follows:
GK - Pickford, Virginia
RB - Patterson
LB - Mykolenko
CB - Tarkowski, Holgate, Keane, Godfrey, Branthwaite
RW -
LW - McNeil
CM - Onana, Doucoure, Gueye, Garner, Gbamin, Gomes
AM - Iwobi, Gray, Alli
CF - Calvert-Lewin, Maupay, Simms
Contract offers - Lonergan (GK), Coleman (RB), Davies (CM)
22 players, 24 if Coleman and Lonergan renew, but that includes Gbamin, Gomes and Alli who, I think we all agree, are unlikely to feature.
That is incredibly thin, with only CM and CB with any numbers and it's definitely quantity over quality at CB.
If we are sell to buy I can't see past an Onana sale. It needs to happen soon.
This squad goes down. We need minnimum two forwards, back up goalie, a left back, another dominant centre back and if Onana goes a midfielder. Also when you look at Mcneil as our only option on the left the Harrison links make sense you need options. As far as I can figure out our senior squad is as follows:

I agree with this. In a year's time, we'll have yet another collection of misfit footballers bought by an outgoing manager (Dyche) who play in a way that won't suit us long term.If we were serious about building for the long term Dyche would’ve been gone by now and Potter appointed. Worried about the lack of activity regarding incomings staff etc.
Maybe but we haven't the players to play the way Potter likes. Also I'm not convinced by him to me he's Martinez 2.0 not to say he isn't a good coach of a style but you can see after he left Brighton they actually kicked on attacking wise. His teams sometimes pass for the sake of it. Yes progressive football is desirable, I think what suits us is a mix of direct football and patterns of attacking play at pace, and we don't have the squad or the budget right now to play an all out passing style, we need a rebuild without a pot to pee in. See how it ended for Silva too. So realism. Stability. Am I a big Dyche fan not massively, but he kept us up and deserves the chance, I don't think he will be here in a few years but we need some kind of stability as there is zero at ownership or board level right now.I agree with this. Dyche isn't the manager for the long term project - as brutal as that may sound to some. Potter absolutely is that manager.
Agree with a lot of the concerns here, but Brighton made some boss signings during his time there, with big sell on values. That's the model, that's the project (initially), before, hopefully kicking on again.Maybe but we haven't the players to play the way Potter likes. this is no way a dig at anything you have said and to me if offered the choice of Everton or Wolves I know what my answer would be in a heartbeat. Unfortunately at this present time we are known as a very poorly run club thanks to our owner and board, we change our manager more times than some people change their socks, an ffp charge hanging over the club and we have narrowly avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth for the last two seasons, mostly due to the passion of the fans. Given the choice a mediocre mid table wolves managed by anyone are probably a better prospect than us at the current time to players who have no affiliation to the club. Yes we could throw money at the problem and pay better wages than them but look where that has got us.Who mentioned what we won in the 80s? Look at the table last year Wolves finished nowhere hardly scored a goal and had strikers all season. What suddenly makes them an attractive proposition for players? Lopategui? Haha have a word with yourself.
Potentially without Pickford & Onana as well - if reports are anything to go by.You just know we’re going into the Fulham game with the same squad but without Mina and Coady.
Good times, Chairman Bill
We're actually going backwards mate, maybe in a Moonwalk manoeuvre but backwards we are going.
All we need is 2 competent strikers..................not top notch strikers just competent and we will be OK no doubt about it. Our defence is half decent, midfield is half decent, goalkeeper is very good but currently the attack is dire. Dyche & co just need to add half decent attackers and a few more generic players and we will get a very safe position. Attack has let us down over the last couple of seasons although we have made bad errors defensively and in the midfield those have been exasperated by a blunt, non effective attack. If we get two half decent attackers and the rest stay as they are then we would be 10-15 points better off.this is no way a dig at anything you have said and to me if offered the choice of Everton or Wolves I know what my answer would be in a heartbeat. We need to be creative in our recruitment but unfortunately I don’t think we have the staff at the club at present to do it
You wanna steer clear of those reports mate. Between u and me I've heard some of them aren't true.
