Yeah, I've seen that but I dont actually believe that's the case.

Because if we didn't sell Gordon then what would we of done?

The plan to fund the stadium cant include player sales Because you can't guarantee someone will buy them.

Seems a bit coincidental to me, "we need £40m to fund the stadium, oh good Newcastle has just bid that exact amount on one of our players". "Now we need another £25m for the stadium, luckily juventus has just activated the option to buy kean early which is the exact amount we need again".

Doesn't fit right but I suppose if any club would be trying to fund a stadium by flying by the seat of its pants it would be us.
Selling Gordon in January I guess meant that we did not have to do an urgent sale like we had to do it last year with richy. Perhaps also give moshiri flexibility in looking for investment as money was not desperately needed for both day to day operations and the stadium.

If we sell our entire team for a few million each will we be able to afford a singe Premier League player?

I'm surprised about the lack of fume watching the Gordon money go into the ether.

Hasn't gone into the ether, the last set of accounts the wages to turnover ratio was 90%

Also, we are currrently in the middle of building a new stadium to the tune if 750 million.

Nope. Not missing my own point at all. We simply cannot be burdened with more garbage footballers.

I sincerely doubt they would contribute any more than the trash we have now, but would drain more funds, leave us stuck with them, as no other clubs would be stupid enough to take them, and hurtle us even closer to financial oblivion.

We have simply signed too many awful players on the basis that they are 'better than what we have/nothing.'

Here's an idea, instead of buying crap players we know are crap, let's take a risk on signing a cheap younger player from abroad, the Toure before he goes to Almeria signing if you will. That's what other clubs do. Might not work but is better than signing old dross. Everton are happy to do the same old crap until it destroys us.
No idea how long you have supported Everton but post Moore's era we have signed dross on a regular basis. Everyone has their favourites Spencer, Angell, Thomsen,Samways, Keeley,Koldrop,Walsh. The list is endless.Take a look at Sandro's stats at Málaga 16 goals in 31 couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. It's just what we do.

They aren't better. And if they are, it is by the tiniest of percentages - so what's the point of the financial outlay? If we are unable to scout or buy players that are significantly better, then our recruitment and negotiation teams, as well as our finances really are pathetic.

And if we can't do the above, then we should be investing in young potential. I haven't missed any point at all. We brought Walcott in because he was faster and 'better than our wide players'. Tosun because he was 'better than the strikers currently at the club'. Gomes because he was better than the likes of Schniederlin. Iwobi because he was better than the wide players we had (and I know he's done alrightish in the end, but the point stands), Maupay because he was better than having no back-up for DCL.

Should I go on?
No need to go on. You've missed the point of the original post by so much you'd need a flight with a layover to get even close to it.

Possibly….I wouldn’t be sure about Begovic not wanting to be No 2. I hardly think he thought he would replace Pickford when he first joined (given his age as well). It may very well be he wanted more game time as a no2, or wages as you say. It will be interesting to see his next move. I would also be concerned around De Geas decision yesterday. If Utd can’t get Inter’s goalkeeper, they may well come looking for ours.
Yes I wouldn't be surprised to see an offer for Pickford. Hopefully not, but would think it's one position we could get a decent replacement for little outlay.

This is what happens when you spend £500m on garbage. It couldn't go on forever. We had our chance and blew it so spectacularly that we are now skint and battling relegation every season. If it were anybody else, it'd be pretty funny really.

At least the stadium build hasn't ground to a halt yet.
It's true but also add in a freeze on Moshiri/Usmanov's assets and a new stadium to pay for since the Carlo summer with James on big wages and Allan and Doucs, we haven't actually spent much net in the last few seasons.

We're not the only team who spent money, mate.

Our transfer ability has cost us, but financing the stadium and the Russia war is what really has kicked us in the balls.
