Arsenal fans tell me Senderos is a good defender when you sit back and play a deep defensive line, he's very good in the air. If you play a high line or an opposition team has a quick, mobile forward he struggles.

Distin is an all rounder, he was as quick as Yobo in his prime and at 6ft 4 I'd argue he's more powerful in the air than anyone we have at the back at the moment.

5 million is alot of money for a 31 year old but we've got a limited amount of time and Distin in proven, experienced and seeing as he's captained both Manchester City and Portsmouth I'd say he brings leadership qualities to the table.

And as much as I rate Yobo he can't marshall a defense on his own like Jagielka can. He's a player that needs to concentrate on his own game without having to guide an experienced centre back through a game. I'm not sure getting one of these overrated, overpriced young guns would be the way forward to be fair, especially not alongside Joe.

If the right sided centre back doesn't cost 10 million plus I'd be all for it. We probably do need more than one centre back, seeing as Yobo is off to the African cup of nations.

My minds made up though, I want Big Dis. He should be priority.

I'm not so sure 31 is that old for a quality CB. Be a good signing I recon. Plenty of experience and great in the air. Distin is a commanding figure alright. Be good confidence boost for Tim Howard in the net. Not much gets passed Distin's head.

i dont think he`s all that cheep at 6mil, 7 mil would land taylor from newcastle and portsmouth are going threw the same as newcastle with new investers. so maybe both will be out of our reach.

I think I'll start crying myself to sleep if we throw out this amount of money on Dustbin...
 

I just think that we need to be careful with this money - whoever we sign will be around still taking their wages next year when all our injured players will be back. We need to be improving the 1st team, not just taking players to fill temporary gaps.
