What was the club debt when Johnson left, and what is it now?
What tangible club assets did we own when Johnson left, as compared to now?

I'm not defending Johnson, I'm saying Kenwright isn't that much better.
Kenwright gets a free ride because 'he's a blue'. If anyone else did half of what he's done, they'd be burning effigies outside the Winslow.

Under Kenwright we have an absentee 2nd majority shareholder who has attended one game in 8 years, doesn't put a penny into the club, mocked the club's fans on U.S. tv, and whose sole tweet in the days after the club's greatest ever manager died was to wish Jushin Bieber a happy birthday. This leech owns nearly a quarter of the club, and was brought into the club by Kenwright so that he could silence his former best friend Paul Gregg and maintain his power grip on the club.

We both know, the debt level is similar the key piece though it's probably about 20% of our turnover, depending if you use the gross or net debt figure. I.e our debt is about one fifth of what we earn a year.

To apply the debt to turnover ratio under Johnson to the modern context we would be over 100 mill in debt earning 120 odd mill a year, that's being kind - that was the state of the club Johnson left and that debt figure was increasing month on month.

In term of assets we had Bellfield and the ground, we sold Bellfield, which wasn't fit for purpose for 10 mill and Now rent finch, I would say it is is shocking we didn't buy the farm in the option recently. We used Goodison to secure the Seculization deal, we're not going to loose the ground nor have we lost it, it's security on a debt that's 3mill a year. A broader question might be would we have needed it if we hadn't been up to our Todger in debt after Johnson.

I never understand the asset arguement, we lost Bellfield which wasn't fit for modern purposes, the ground is ours. The term asset is one that's played on, the actual fixed assets of the club aren't worth say a Stones or a Barkley. In reality you might get 20 mill for The Goodison site. Whats a better asset a Stones or a site in L4.

I'm not exhaulting Bill here and he's made a dogs dinner of many things, but comparing him to Johnson frankly isn't fair.

I stand corrected. I wonder what odds I could get on Earl having zero contact with the club during said meetings?

We can only guess, but given the size of his shareholding he has a significant amount of capital tied up. If it was me I'd be attending meetings either by phone or by proxy.

Appreciate you might be correct though mate.
