This is the point though, isn't it?

Russell Brand says he doesn't vote and he is an enormously popular figure so, whatever we think of his views, they will have a great deal of influence on people.

So, how best to address the issue of not voting than to talk to one of its most popular advocates? Why would this be frowned upon?

Fair play to Miliband on this one.
Equally, plenty of people will be turned off voting for a party that courts the attention of the likes of Brand. He's a very divisive character.

FWIW I rather like Brand as a comedian. But like Izzard, they should stay as comedians.

Off campaigning in the Socialist ghettos of Hoylake and Meols later today. Trying to unseat the blushing, modest Esther McVey.
Of all the incumbents her being dumped would bring me the greatest pleasure.

I absolutely despise that 'woman'. Met her once and she was true to form, patronising and demanding and rude to the staff, had to politely put her in her place but to be fair I still managed to make a complete arse of her. She put in a complaint about my manner, but when I explained to my boss what had happened there was no follow up and her complaint was responded to with a no case to answer on investigation :)

hope she loses her seat, just spouts the same few sets of figures out like an over excited schoolgirl trying to get the lads in class to notice her, never debates just says well 2 million jobs bla fookin bla her and clegg are my hopes for losing there seats that i would get most pleasure from.

A recent Stanford study highlights the benefits of a simple online intervention for creating a growth mindset.

http://dx.doi.org/10.1177/0956797615571017

"If our short, web-based activities can help students see school as a place where they can grow their abilities and become the kind of person they want to be, and if that change in perspective makes students more motivated and successful, then it seems likely that there are many opportunities in the classroom to send these messages to better engage students."

The tools used in the study are freely available https://www.mindsetkit.org/growth-mindset

I should say, this research is part of a major Stanford research initiative into educational projects that can scale up quickly and affordably.

What about the demotivating effects of a visibly unjust society? Once again, the disadvantaged are being blamed for not overcoming that disadvantage, as if it were wrong to moan about a footy game in which one side had fourteen players and a dad reffing against your side of ten players.

Its called denial Clint. He sees it but chooses to ignore it, and in doing so is complicit in perpetuating the misery for others, whilst not benefiting in any significant way whatsoever himself.
