Most votes or most seats? There have been general elections (admittedly not for a while) when the two outcomes were not the same.

Always most votes - the boundaries are currently heavily skewed in favour of Labour, so they need considerably less votes to win, and if the Tories get in, they'll probably try and skew the boundaries in their favour.

They already have done. Inner city constituencies have been lost in order to split up places like Norfolk in more seats.

If UKIP get 13% of the vote and 3 MPs they will demanding to be part of the coalition.o_O

They tried to pass boundary reforms in the last parliament but it didn't happen, they'll try again if they get in.

UKIP would have every right to demand to be part of a coalition, but that doesn't mean the largest party has to agree to it.

Up here in the Stockton South seat I live in a lot of money has been spent by labour and the tories. Every day propaganda leaflets through the door, bill boards full of Alex Salmond robbing our cash apparently if Labour get in a coalition.

Streets are full of Tory and Labour posts, all out media war. Currently a Tory Majority of 268 votes, its a must win for Labour.

I currently live in Yarm, does that fall under Stockton South?

Electoral Forecast (Newsnight forecaster) use a system that has an incumbency factor built into it (the sitting MP will get a swing back at the actual vote). Interesting to see the figures they come up with when they knock that effect off and just go with what the polls are indicating:

(in brackets are where they calculate seats will go with incumbency effect)

LAB 289 (267)
CON 265 (281)
SNP 54 (51)
LIB 15 (26)
PC 5 (4)
UKIP 3 (1)
GRN 1 (1)

The Tories and LDs better hope that effect kicks in on the day.

In 2010 it took 34,940 votes for each winning Tory seat against 33,370 votes for each Labour seat, not exactly a huge skew in Labour's favour.

I D S says that disabled and sickness benefits will be protected. What if a Tory government says to local councils that the cash they receive to pay for housing benefits is to be cut? That will penalise the sick and disabled just as surely as if E S A and / or D L A - P I P were frozen.

What if the criteria for for these benefits were altered (fiddled) even further than they have been?

You can protect the headline figure but still ensure money is reduced by a number of means.

Daily Politics show looks lively: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/election-2015-32557049

Green spokesman on welfare tearing Ian Duncan Himmler a new one about his reforms causing suicides.

Quite right too. The most disgusting man in politics getting snotted over that.

Not only does he slope off from a parliamentary debate on the rise of foodbanks; he doesn't even turn up to a hustings in his own constituency, where one of the speakers was the sister of an army vet who died as a direct result of his sanction (I despise that wrod) regime.
