8th Placed Everton Ladies were playing another rare friday night fixture tonight,as they were away to 4th placed Arsenal Women at meadow park [Boreham woods/Arsenal Ladies ground],and it was Arsenal who came out on top,with the only goal of the game comming from Beth Mead on 39mins, when she controlled the ball well and had time and space to shoot low to the far post beating Everton Keeper Durack,it was so very nearly 1-1 on the stroke of Half time when Mollie Green a late inclusion to the starting line up due to an injury/illness in the warm up from the Everton ladies captain Turner,picked up a loose ball and spotting the Arsenal Womens Keeper off her line, took a shot from around 35 yards out with the Arsenal keeper getting back just in time to tip it on to the bar with the rebound then been cleared,it was 1-0 at HALF TIME
Olivia chance had the 1st Everton chance of the 2nd half,but her shot was from a pretty tight angle,and easy for the keeper to save,though on 55mins Everton did have the ball in the net,but a Sweetman-Kirk low down shot was ruled out for offside.
On 66mins Everton Keeper Durack pulled off a tremounous save from Danielle Carter from point blank range to keep the score at 1-0 but Everton never really found a way to goal tonight and the game ended 1-0 to the Arsenal,
16-year-old Elise Hughes,17 in april, came on for her senior debut in injury time. shes in the full Wales Women's squad for the upcoming Cyprus Cup tournament starting next week,after already playing for Wales at under-16 and U17 level,
Everton Ladies next game is the Q/F cup game,away to Durham on the 18th March.
The next league game is 25TH MARCH v bottom of the table Yeovil Town Ladies,who have a 100% record THIS SEASON of losing 9 from 9,and have actually lost 22 games from THE last 23 games in all comps,there last win was actually the 6TH NOVEMBER 2016
