The 2024 AFL Season Thread

@Sinski Sorry for the angry face response, but it was either that or the middle finger one. It's Vossy and the players i'm more angry at.

I don't want the usual Carlton special of sacking the coach but to go from top two to on the verge of slipping out of the eight, well that is a collapse of pretty epic proportions.

Then again the top end of the ladder is so even a winner could come from outside the top four this year.

Considering we took McGovern as a forward and have threw him down back, I was quietly confident he'd slot that, not dish up that slop.
There is talk he was dizzy due to a head knock, only he'll know for sure.

Hawks will be very disappointed from Sunday, I just saw your run in, post us, that's a definite 8 points, I don't fancy our chances currently.
I'm hoping we can lift mate and pull out the three wins we need to save our season.

I expected some sort of react so all good.

Its been a really weird year. It looked like very early that Sydney and GWS were the teams to beat and Sydney carried through being dominant for a long period and GWS dropped off. Sydney now look like they are a terrible side. Carlton and Essendon looked like they would both be finals teams in the middle of the seasons but both teams have dropped off quite a bit. The form teams now are the Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Brisbane. Still not convinced by Port or Freo. The top 8 is really bunched up with a down to us in 11th being all very close on points. There could be some big movement of positions over the next few weeks.
We have Sydney this Friday night at the SCG and unfortunately it looks like we need Carlton to beat Hawthorn to gives us a better chance of making the finals.

Half-time at the G. Once again the Hawks find themselves with a substantial lead.

Just watch them crawl into their shells in the last quarter as Carlton run riot. Pretenders.

Sydney gave your boys a right spanking in the last quarter on Friday night. In fairness, Collingwood should have had a 50m free in the dying moments.

That is true but it should not have got to that.
You're right. The game wasn't blown in that one moment, Sydney were allowed to claw their way back well before that. The Hawks have let two sizable leads dissipate resulting in a one point loss to Port & a two point loss to GWS. Very, very, frustrating. We have come a long way, but I still think the likes of Sydney & Geelong have our measure.

😄😄😄
What a way to have made finals, absolutely fell into that.
Hopefully a few big ins for us prior to Brisbane so we can give them a game, however I don't see us getting the better of them.

How the hell did we make the finals? Thankfully Port Adelaide did us a massive favour in the end.

We have a nice rest now before playing the Lions at the Gabba, with some of the troops back from injury we can have a right old crack at them.

Only two wins since the end of June although the injuries haven't helped. The whole fitness and conditioning department at Carlton need to be sacked.

We both made it mate and Collingwood miss out. Your lot did a proper job on us as well i have to say!
The Hawks have certainly had some big wins over the last month or so. Just a shame we let the game slip against GWS.

Footscray are going to be hard to beat in the Elimination final, they are also a form team ATM. I think the Blues will find it hard going up in Brisbane. The challenge for your boys is the injury list. Anything is possible though.

Very happy Essendon & Collingwood didn't make the 8 - apologies @Sinski

At least Hawthorn is providing a diversion to the EPL - Everton what a mess.
