The Accounts...

If any other business had a set of accounts like that, the whole board and senior management would be out on their arse.

Moshiri should have got a professional team in straight away when he took over, not a parish council set of amateurs that we’ve got now.
The board carries some responsibility for the mess we find ourselves in but Moshiri would need to have sacked himself to really solve the problem.

I think that finally he may have started to listen to people who know something about football. The last two appointments may not be successful but they are sensible football based appointments.

Why is Moshiri still at Everton ?, because if he can manage to get it right at the club then he will get back all his investment and plenty more besides.

Just been breaking down the accounts, seems the PL have accepted that we’ve made an a loss of 85mill and below the 105 mill P&S threshold.

Begs the question, if we knew in the summer we had a 30 mill buffer, why did we only spend on 1.7 mill on Demari - probably wages on Jamo who left late outside the window.

Yet some cause for pause, our latest compliance comes buoyed by losses of 13 mill 17/18.

Our next cycle is this + 21/22,

18/19: 112 mill
19/20: 140 mill
20/21: 124. mill.

* 19/20 & 20/21 averaged and impaired.

If we believe (at the moment) that the PL have accepted (at the moment) the Covid impairment on between 170 mill - 220mill, and our losses above are an impaired 85 mill. We have a buffer of 30 million.

That doesn’t necessarily mean we have 30 million to spend, it’s likely that will get eaten up very quickly, with a wage to turnover ratio of 95% and compensation for departing Brands, his team and Benitez and his team. Our costs are a killer.

Transfer-wise We did all right last summer, bought a few low cost, sold a few on big money, sold a bit in January and bought a bit - seems a very fine line with break even the plan, we will be touch and go.

This summer again can’t see any real money being spent, think it will be like last summer again - unless DCL or Richarlison go and they may. Likely those potential deals or not will dictate what summer window we will have.

That should actually be a 20 mill - buffer - mea culpa.

You say this but look at the way he was had off by managers turning up and walking away with a payday for failure, Moshiri is an easy target if you know what your doing, a fool and his money
In his defence, no one expected Carlo and Koeman, even silva to end so badly
He employed decent managers, gave them decent finances and they bombed. Being had off is not nearly what happened

No he did not. Koeman has failed everywhere he’s been apart from Southampton. Silva got the job on the basis of a decent first 8 games at Watford and playing well for an hour at Stamford Bridge. Benitez was a washed up failure who was finished 5 years before we appointed him. Only Ancelotti had any sort of recent track record to speak of and he was not the type of manager we needed to build back from where we were. Moshiri’s record of appointing managers is as bad as it gets in Premier League history honestly.

Id say Carlo and Koeman totally had us off, neither had long term Everton ambition, but not just managers, agents are scamming him too, his mate Kia is raking it in.

The figure Everton posted was from 2021, which would have covered the Hamez window.
James was in the 1 February 2020 to 1 February 2021 period.

It’s actually anything from beyond the Josh King deal.

We actually did a lot of business and deals, 10 incomings, 7 outs be it loans or permanent's - not including youth players.

While we had two management recruitment processes.

Used to smile, when people thought Brands sat around a table brokering deals.

That spending is for the list of intermediary transactions 2nd Feb 2021 to 31st Jan 2022

Unless we didn't declare it there was no intermediary transaction for the Josh King transfer.

And just to throw fuel onto the fire...

Player: Anwar El Ghazi
Registration Type: Loan In
Intermediary: Gian Montesano

Gian Montesano is the registered agent for Sport Invest UK.

Oh and look at who was an intermediary involved in Lucas Digne going to Villa.

Player: Lucas Digne
Registration Type: Perm Transfer Out
Intermediary: Kiavash Joorabchian

So I said this back at the time of the transfer.
It's all very similar to the Iwobi deal isn't it.

Kia sorts out Villa with a meal deal for Coutinho, but Villa could still do with freeing up some cash. Kia says to Villa I can help with moving on someone, he gives Jorge a call tells him he can earn a few £ if he can convince El Ghazi on a loan move. Then he gives his bff Moshiri a call and tells him about this young wide midfielder who's looking to prove himself.

Villa free up cash
Jorge earns a few £
Kia earns a few £

Everyone wins, apart from Everton.

It looks like either El Ghazi changed agent from Jorge Mendes to Sport Invest UK or Jorge Mendes allowed the transfer to occur and Gian Montesano took money for the transfer, may or may not have then passed a few £££ onto Jorge.

Good post mate. I meant it was every deal weve done in and out since Josh King, he was our last before Feb 2021.

Kia is in deep with Everton.

My understanding, is often there can be three agents involved in a deal, the players, the selling clubs, the buying clubs - sometimes two agents can work for the selling/buying club & the player. Its a shark soup is my understanding and players are subject to poaching.

Kia can ring say El Gahzi and say i can get you a move to Everton if you let me do the deal, but Everton will only deal with me, El Gahzi likes the deal, but says i have a contract with an agent - Kia says ill sort that. Kia rings Mendez and says i can do this deal and you cant, but i can give you 25% of the fee i make - Mendez says, 25% of something is better then 100% of nothing and i get to move the player permanently on in the summer - so gives Kia the thumbs up to the deal and still have the player under contract.

Its a dark and messy, shady business. But your right we seem to have made Kia the king maker and hes putting some really poor player purchases our way.

I know a few people in and around Saints from doing stuff with work and apparently Koeman never really wanted to leave them, he was quite happy with the setup they had and his nice pad in the New Forrest and the many high end golf courses down that way.

Yeah totally, also it wasnt that much of a step up at the time, even if it was at all, side ways maybe, he made a error and so did we.

I think all these managers (except Raf) were exptected to do good things with a biggish budget, they failed. It is not having anyone off though, it is just failing.

I mean that last part is a big big ask. If he’s already invested almost £600 million, look at the state of the playing squad. Think about how much either time or investment that’s going to need to get upto a competitive level. He’s going to have to invest more just to get the stadium built. In 3 years he could very well have invested the best part of £800 million, probably more. I can’t see us selling for almost £1 billion.

If he doesn’t invest in us who’s going to buy us for £600 million given the state of the squad and a just started stadium to fund

The next few seasons are crucial, staying in the Premiership is crucial.
Twelve months ago with largely the same players we were chasing the Europa league and even CL was being vaguely mentioned. Things change quickly in football as we have seen this season.
They can change for the better as well.
A good standard Premiership team, a brand new stadium would greatly increase our value.

I mean if only we had followed brands mantra we would have been ok, but we did the absolute opposite. We paid top dollar for the rejects from top teams, gave them exorbitant contracts and now we are in big trouble. I just hope we have learned the lesson now.
