The Accounts...

Apparently the PL have accepted the accounts.
Yes mate, there is nothing wrong with the accounts.

But people assume that "we have got away with it all", we dont as yet know if there will be sanctions, thats my only point.

Ugh, im explaining it badly.

We dont know if they are willing to put everything down to Covid and if they accept our loses are within the P&L limits, even in the covid restricted period.

As ive already said, I doubt they want to make a fuss, so odds are they will turn a blind eye, but I would imagine they will be telling us to not take the pee anymore than we have.

Yes I see where you are coming from.

I think they have turned that blind eye though. That's bit gospel, but that's what I think has happened.

Its not in the PLs interests to make a big thing of it.

The accounts are awful though. I am stunned the CEO and Chairman are still in employment, never mind how blase the chairman was with his pre amble to them.

I’ve zero clue about this.

Is there a possibility that we could have somehow proved that had COVID not happened, we had lined up much bigger sponsorship deals, including sleeve sponsors, even if it was with Megafon etc, which would account for a large proportion of our projected losses? This could've included 2 international summer tours and a variety of tie ins that would've been impossible due to COVID.

If so, these are the types of ideas people are talking about in terms of out of the box thinking. Essentially they will have provided leverage without even having to put up any money.

Not saying we haven't been poorly run in some aspects, but the "experts" in here and on twitter are notable by the amount of Billions they don't have.

If it all goes wrong, it's Moshiris money he is risking. And if we suffer, he will not get it back.

The worst thing I can say about him, is that he has been unlucky in a number of attempts he's made. But the difference between a brave idea and a stupid idea is success. If any 1 of his attempts had worked, noone would be complaining.

But some on here would have you believe they actually long for the days of us not buying a player for 2 years, and bringing in Maguye Gueye and Dennis Stracqualursi on loan.

I don't actually get how we've lost 100m and blamed COVID. We don't make 5m per home match, do we?

More then that between 170 -220 mill in Covid losses overall.

We've stretched it, essentially we've blamed Covid for not having the opportunity we normally would have had to sold Bolasie, Sandro and Besic due to a depressed transfer market, while we've also lobbed in higher amortisation costs as well as well and attributed them to Covid.

Very interesting and indeed concerning comm from ESK.

The attention now has to turn to the two most concerning bumps in the road that are fast approaching
1) Final league position 21/22
2) The numbers in the current years trading.

In a way both are so intertwined as to be a worry not just in terms of next season but the sustainability of the club long term

The return of match day revenues will of course help but that will almost certainly be eaten up by the almost certain reduction of merit payments based on league position.

OK there will be a reduction in amortisation and wages but the folly , no vanity appointment of Benetiz ,won’t have come cheap

Id also highlight the bit of limbo we are in commercially mate, USM is a big loss in annual revenue approx about 15 mill, we need a new front of shirt sponsor and sleeve sponsor to, while also looking for a naming rights partner for a new ground.

A company would be of their bin to agree a deal with us unless they knew what division we were playing in next year.

I suppose the problem of the PL accepting the accounts might only come when relegation has been finalised.
If you’re Watford or Burnley’s owners you might fancy a bit if a legal fight about it?

Lots if ifs and buts to take issue with here.

The fact remains that, none have worked and that's why we are here.

6 years fella, it's long time to go getting it constantly wrong.

We wasted close to 100m in players who were relegated with their prior club and people wonder why we are in this mess.
