On the dole as well then?

Who watches Union? Tories watch Union.

Well this took a turn. Yep you better leave you there or probably delete this one.

Cricket the real winner here folks!… and the Aussies (again)
Well no, you've brought up the racism issues inherent in English cricket without acknowledging your own inhouse issues that aren't being addressed. It's a fair cop skippy. I don't think Australia realise how much they're disliked in the cricketing world, which is a shame as a large number of their players are quite likeable on an individual level, it's when they all get together.

Pretty sure you played the racism card and then took a swing with no evidence.

Are you referring to this interview?

Who cares who likes them or not? Tall Poppy syndrome espeically the Brits who have chips on both shoulders.

Gave you the evidence in my post, from the news article I quoted, are you calling Khawaja a liar?

It's Khawaja on why he wasn't selected more often and sure, there's credence there. But internationally he really wasn't consistant enough early on.

As opposed to this. Absolutely shocking.

"Rafiq said the experience left him close to taking his own life."

And this
"One unnamed former Asian cricketer details the discrimination he suffered in the findings, revealing teammates threw alcohol and bacon at him in acts of “abuse” and “hatred”

It's not just about his non selection though, it's about the racism he's suffered playing cricket throughout his life. If they did an actual investigation into it, they'd find a lot more I'm sure. I'm also sure that Usman isn't telling the full story seeing as how he's finally got into the team and wouldn't want to jepordise his employment. There will be more of that lid lifted in the future I'm sure of it.

Ok we'll wait for the investigations findings then :coffee:

Doubt an investigation will ever happen. Come on Macca, you know fully well that racism in cricket is well and truly alive across all western playing nations, it's good to see England trying to do something about it.

Different levels of it yes, but I don't think there is such a malevolant level of abuse as uncovered in the English game.

Let's be honest. In the 2 hours of play England bowled rubbish despite helpful overhead conditions.
Root only bowled because he had to ... and was the pick.

Had a chance - albeit a small one - and blew it
They only had 15 overs of seam, the ball was soaking wet so wouldn't reverse, as soon as Anderson got it to move the umpires said spin only.

Also the aussie batters wasted as much time as possible and played very well.

England have done absolutely everything possible to force a win in very unfortunate circumstances, no way should anyone be getting on their back for this test

I enjoyed the "we're racist but not as racist as you" shout.

Reckon there's any play today? Get these two early and could be in business.
Yeah that should definitely be a moment of self reflection for the lad.

I'm not going to sit around praying for weather to be honest, they've probably escaped with a draw which is a shame given the cowardly nature of their play. Couldn't be happier with how Stokes and the boys have gone about it and piped down a loud section of what are supposed to be our own fans. We need more Ben Stokes, Mark Woods and Jimmy Andersons in the game, the only way that happens is if we are honest about the elitist issues that 100% still exist in English cricket. Its far harder that it should be for working class lads and minorities to get into cricket, its even harder for them to take it seriously and start playing a high level.

Test cricket needs to change.

It’s a nonsense not to have a rule in place for a sixth day contingency in cases like this.

Such a fantastic sporting spectacle should not be ruined by the weather.
I see the weather as an integral part of the game so find myself disagreeing with this strangely !.
The weather is very much part of the game, it dictates whether you want to bowl or bat, how a ball reacts under certain conditions, cloud cover etc, dictates what type of bowling suits .
I think part of the reason you saw the English first innings as aggressive as it was is they knew the forecast so had to go for it.
It's the nature of the game and is so much better for it imo.

The weather can still be integral without ruining the game though.

Missing 150 overs of play is no good for the sport.
