The Ashes 2023

Really doesn’t take much to look at the forecast and realise you’re going to lose a lot of time so start earlier and finish later. Just an hour each side is enough.

Also, do something about the over rates.

We’re as bad as anyone for it but so much time gets lost when you can play.

Oh and it’s 2023. Get some roofs built on these grounds.
Not enough money in cricket to put rooves on the grounds

It’s to make the game better as a whole.

A brilliant series of cricket decided due to rain. The game needs to be more flexible.
The biggest decider in the series was the way England performed (mainly poorly!) in the first two tests - poor decision making when batting, dropped catches etc etc!
I agree though the game needs to be more flexible particularly with its timings, especially when one team is set on constantly trying to slow a game down!
This series won’t be decided by the rain, but this game might be though which is a great shame as it would be great to go to The Oval 2-2!

Was meant to be happening at Headingley a few years ago.

You’d think over time this could make its money back. Especially if the only one in the country.

I’d argue losing 150 overs from a single test is the most impactful of any of the things you mentioned.

Get the guys in that put centre parcs up. Somewhere in the midlands. Guaranteed no rain is a big win and imagine being able to trap the sound of a music event in - imagine a licence to midnight. The wins stack up fast.

Well I would have thought could make a multi purpose arena with a bit of creative thought. Sadly Yorkshire cricket club are too busy being racist and wasting money to be able to commit to any such venture. Think they have a roof on a ground in Australia

Standing water on the outfield now at OT

Even if it stops, light will be poor so no pace.

Might as well call it off and on to the Oval

Looks like the chance to win the Ashes are gone but The Oval is still massive. Get out of the series at 2-2 and make it 26 years before the Aussies can next win in England. That's even longer than England's run without a series win in Australia from 87-2011.

No one would have seen that coming in 2001.

The 150 overs lost has a huge impact on this game, but nothing to do with the fact they were 2-0 down after two games largely because of the stuff I mentioned though!

Can't see the Aussies jumping around celebrating as they get the trophy in front of nobody. Although maybe they'll go full rs after the asterisk league
