Can you show your working out?
My working out is that I posted very early on and in subsequent posts that Australia had a tougher mentality and were going to win the match. All of which was proved completely correct.

You then jump on one post which states it was ‘maybe’ (note not definitely) too late for a rearguard action.

If you had stuck to your guns then fine but you flip flop as things change. Why not just watch and see what happens?

Dropping Foakes is worse than the declaration, sorry to say

Bairstow hasn’t been a good keeper for nearly 10 years. Bringing him right back and giving him the gloves was simply arrogance and a poor decision.

Same as going to Moeen instead of someone else.

Lessons to be learned, but they’re beatable
100% agree with this 👍!
People will argue Bairstow plays because of his batting - Test Match average is 37, meanwhile Ben Foakes averages 32 in Test Matches ! I’d argue Foakes brings far more to the team as a wicket keeper to more than make up for what is only a marginal difference in their batting averages!

Bairstow and Foakes should both play. I don't think we should actually consider dropping JB, we just need to give the gloves to the better wicketkeeper. One of the openers should be dropped.

Yep, stick Bairstow on to open and tell him to crack on. The games he gets his eye in early, he could take the game away from the opposition in the first session.

They did it with about 7 overs or so to spare. If we don't declare they don't have time to get the runs and we draw, Stokes went for the win and did what he thought necessary to do it. He will make mistakes along the way but that's part and parcel of it and I for one want to be on this ride. I'd rather lose trying to win than accept a draw, I know most will disagree but you aren't gonna change stokes mindset, just enjoy it while you can.
Play to win.
If for some reason the arse falls out of you kecks then by all means hang on for the draw - but never play 'not to lose'

Nah we can't use Bairstow as an opener, we tried it before an it didn't really work. he's to strong batting where he does and can win you the game from there..
He will loosen up over time behind the sticks.
It's too much of a sticky decision, definitely not fair on Foakes but you just can't leave Bairstow out and although i'd happily drop Crawley, it will only effect our lower order moving them up to replace him.

If McCullum and Stokes really want to play with Aussie minds, they could call up Sophie Ecclestone as a direct replacement for Jack Leach. No1 women's bowler in world and tall, left arm spinner who can bat
