If McCullum and Stokes really want to play with Aussie minds, they could call up Sophie Ecclestone as a direct replacement for Jack Leach. No1 women's bowler in world and tall, left arm spinner who can bat
I mean she'd get ruined by pace with the bat and would be the biggest bunny in world cricket since Chris Martin and Courtney Walsh, but she probably a better bowler than Leach.

Took out Mitchell Strac's Mrs second ball with a beauty that knocked top of off so, yes, I'd expect he'd take revenge with some pepper 😁

He's not wrong.

then he needs to have a word with Stokes, who has allegedly asked for flat, fast pitches.……and then omits Wood. I don’t think it’ll matter tbh, Australia's bowling options are superior. We simply have to be making 450+ to be in the game.

Ha ha . There's thinking outside the box ( oops). She is actually a fabulous bowler and a massive Evertonian.
Shame she's England's best bowler and bowled 46 overs in the 1st innings

Ahmed on standby in case Ali can’t play.

Massive gamble that could destroy him … or make him

Bazball is largely being deemed a failure in the Australian media but if you look at the figures that isn't England problem.

England made 666 for 18 off 144 0vers in the 1st Test and Australia made 668 for 18 in 210 overs.

Bazball is fine when you're batting but is no help when you're fielding, and especially when you're dropping catches, missing
stumpings and bowling no balls.

My understanding of 'bazball' is basically this: You have to play a test match like you're playing a T20 match, am I right?

It should be called 'whopperball' then! Because only a whopper would be arrogant enough to exercise this as a playable strategy.

So if the pitch has turned in favour of the bowling side, are you still going to try hit a boundary with every ball?

I mean, the whole point of test cricket is that you have unlimited overs. So you can be patient and out think your opponent. Like chess.

It's worked pretty well so far. Eleven wins and two narrow losses, and it's never dull.
