I'd say between 68 and 74 goals against this season.

You mean ridden, David - injury RIDDEN.

The last 2 PL tested defenders we bought - Keane & Godfrey - means zero except price tag.

Patterson - void as your opinion is tainted - does need to improve though

Midfield also needed strengthening to provide support for the back line

Our defence in its current state is very poor and even weaker than last season. An injury to either Tarkowski or Branthwaite will see us getting battered. None of our other defenders are good enough for the Premier League, they are all championship level dross.

Why no new defender has been signed is beyond me.

Three games in and Villa could've scored 6-7 pretty easily. O.k saying just conceding 1 apiece to Fulham and Wolves but neither are that great in attack anyway and in previous seasons would've kept clean sheets in those type of games at Goodison.

It's great getting someone like Beto in and suddenly with Danjuma out wide the final third looks like it will be an actual threatening area of the pitch but they'll have to step up as going to have to score 2s and a few 3s to win games this season once Keane is back in that backline.
