The end of Hibbo?

Tony Hibbert is a great custodian for the club. He is not going to be remembered as the greatest player going forward, but he was a brilliant defender at RB.

I would go as far as saying that he was the safest RB we had for years. He doesn't fit the new style of play, he can't get forward as Coleman but in his time at Everton, he gave everything.

He's not going to be on mega bucks.

If Coleman gets injured and we need a stopper, then it makes sense that we call on him until we can cover the position properly. In that time, we can get other options. Let's just not knock him or RM for covering it for a season.

He never kicked on sincce coming through apart from improving his crossing a couple of seasons ago. The fact is that weve not had any bids for him or osman and hich is why they are still here...

However one a one year contract as backup isnt bad as long as he still can donam average job. Saves cash for other positions

Everyone saying it's madness to give him a new contact simply don't understand the inner workings of a football club, from the daily training to the dressing room, it's not just about the best 11 players. Having a Tony Hibbert in the background, a local lad who was in the same FA Youth Cup winning side as Rooney is clearly invaluable, many clubs have someone like this and those who done probably wish they had one. He's probably going to get 10k a week at best for a player/coaching role, there's players in the lower leagues on more than that. People need to get a grip and respect the fact Martinez knows what Tony Hibbert brings to the club better than any of us

theres better players in the lower leagues as well

He played 7 league games in 2 seasons. In normal ciucumstances, he should have been released but the manager wants to give him a new contract so that is good enough for me.

Stones can play RB
I'd rather Stones be a first choice CB rather than backup RB as well.

Stones should play loads next season, but he'll still need resting - if he's both first choice CB and backup RB there is the risk of him either getting any rest or of not playing in his future position.

Stones should be emergency RB only - not for any planned Coleman rest days.

The great mean is now over come by student Coleman, the aim of a teacher is to overcome by student, this is good man Tony Hibbert. We think of your respect and quality to the service of Everton Football Club.
There is still a place for hibbo, if only in my heart.
