The EU deal

I don't need to. It simply can't and won't happen. We'd have to have another referendum for starters, purely on that issue and of course we have a veto on all things defence.
Why would you think we'd get a referendum and what makes you think Cameron would veto it?

Oh look! More bullshine being bandied about in the hopes of tapping into people's indignation.
As far as immigration goes I ask myself the question, why when some of our own pensioners are facing homes without heat in the winter, having to decide if they should put the fire on or save their money for food, then why are we allowing any number of foreigners into our country?
All our public services are at breaking point and we allow more, and the EU will tell us the quota we should take of those fleeing North Africa.
I have sympathy for the women and children, the men should be ashamed of themselves.

But before you go calling me racist, I'll let you know now, that I have Muslim friends, my daughters best friend is a Muslim and she brings her prayer mat to my home, and we all leave the room so she can pray.

I also have a couple of black friends, and there's a Polish family I know too, who I consider friends.
I'm far from racist, more just a realist, I live in this world, not some far off Utopia world.

I worry about my Country and I want it back.

Because it's written into UK law. Now would you like to retract your nonsense?

European military force is still a matter for national governments

The EU doesn’t have the legal power to act in this area unless member governments actively give their permission.

The EU treaties do allow for “the progressive framing of a common defence policy that might lead to a common defence”.

But this “common defence” will only come about “when the European Council, acting unanimously, so decides”. Unlike in other areas of EU decision-making, the European Commission can’t propose laws about security and defence, and any decisions in these areas must be made unanimously.

That means that the UK effectively has a veto.

UK law also states that no such common EU defence powers can be handed from the UK to the EU without the approval of parliament and a referendum on the decision. So the government would need the support of both the public and MPs before they could make such a decision.

So spreading fear about something that may never happen isn't really warranted is it? It's an extremely underhand tactic encouraging people to be unduly fearful or contemptuous of foreigners.

You mean like when we were told it was ' racist' to disbelieve it'd be no more than 'tens of thousands' and came to be the hundreds of thousands of eastern Europeans when labour flung the door open - like the 'racists' predicted correctly?

Change the bleedin' record will ya?

Which war(s) have you fought in?

It was a man hounded out of his job for going against the tide, much like Enoch Powell.

You mean that guy who got sacked in the late 60s?

I was looking for evidence that people are somehow scared of losing their job if they deviate from the 'consensus' - I assumed this 'consensus' to be the Remain vote, but maybe he's referring to something else...

As long as there are people who hate on foreigners in our country I won't change the record, no. I will defend to the hilt the many millions of immigrants who helped build our nation and I will defend them when people point the finger and say it's their fault that the nation they helped to build is 'supposedly' struggling. Its a disgusting, horrible lie.

State of this! I'm sorry but you really need to give your head a wobble.

I was in the Navy for 30 years, and been to more dangerous places than I care to mention, hope this answers your smarmy question, although I don't see what your question has to do with anything I said.

It was to do with the bit where you said all the men fleeing ISIS should be ashamed of themselves. Thanks for your service, just checking.

I don't think that civilians fleeing barbaric terrorism should be 'ashamed' though, personally.
