The EU deal

No denying. But to think that it is a foregone conclusion negotiations will be over quickly and favourably to us, without any other EU country wanting to have 1st dibs on some of our market is ridiculous.

The negotiations won't be quick, but they will not stop trading while it's being sorted. If you believe that German cars will cease to be sold here while we negotiate, then that would be silly.......

Agreed that it would be daft, but the rules are the rules. We helped write them. If negotiations aren't concluded in 2 years trade won't stop, but it will have to be carried out as if we are no longer in the union, under WTO regulations, with relevant tariffs. There is every possibility that everyone will suffer.

Unless we agree otherwise. Don't get hung up on the words in the treaty, the EU has shown numerous times that political necessity will override any 'rules'.......like their economic fiscal rules etc etc

Not if the EU have any concerns about further break aways with members insisting on the treaty being binding.

Why should the EU be concerned of breakaways if it is so good for everyone. If it can only exist by threats then who would want to belong to it. It is actually in the EU's interest to help the UK to leave on a happy note, and develop trade with it.........
