The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

The board have no interest in selling.

The BU like many other Evertonians note the continued decline of our one great club from its perennial berth of being in the top four of the English league to where we are now.

The will not be broken until this board is shown the door.

Then with respect the BU are destined to be protest group and nothing more. If that's the objective then fine, but surely BU wants to do more than that?

The time when the Board was at its weakest was when finances were particularly tight and around the time of the Kirkby fiasco. Now, with the club's finances in a better state (only down to TV revenues) there's little or no pressure. They saw off BU last time, how is it going to be different this time?

By the way, I am genuinely interested, not just being critical for the sake of it.

Maybe as supporters we should just get behind our team since it's the best one we've had in 20 years. Lets be honest while the team is this strong and we're talking of windows where we might be signing Shaqiri, Mertens and have signed Cleverly and Deulofeu after the last window when we signed Rom nothing is going to happen.

It's simply going to be an unwelcome distraction which spreads division in a season when we might actually do something.

If you want my advice the BU should pick it's battles so as not to weaken it's argument. Wait for the time when the board is weak and then act because if it doesn't it will come across as a joke and when the time is right no one will be able to take it seriously.

Everton have finished in the top four in the top division 33 times. Not too dusty but hardly perennial.

The board is weak at the moment, the impending doom that awaits the Walton Hall Park project means that a bit of momentum needs to be built now.

I don't understand the get behind the team argument, most of the people who are unhappy with the board and are speaking out go absolutely everywhere watching everton and get behind them much more than you or I.

They certainly picked their battle in regards to Kirkby and we should be eternally grateful that they did.

Top four 14 times since 1955. Thats 59/60 years. Less than 25% of the time. Hardly perennial. We seem to have three or four seasons were we are top four and then some 'poorer' seasons. therefore proving that the 'myth' of Everton being perennially in the top four simply has no basis in fact. It may be that some people, based on their age, think that the four years or so of success in the 80s was the norm.

Two conflicting objectives....the fans (those with functioning brain cells) want to see a board that provides financial growth to the business allowing more purchasing power for the team......this board wants to essentially do nothing, sweat/sell the existing assets as far as possible, and accrue private profit for themselves by whatever means possible including the eventual sale of an asset appreciating solely on the back of TV income.

Sweet FA to discuss imo

I don't think we have ever gone this long without a trophy. Even Johnston managed an FA Cup

interesting reading this conversation. far from an expert on the board and the situation, but if seems like @the esk was talking more about solutions and a way for the BU to go about things to reach solutions, whereas you keep pointing out the problem. At this point, most on here or that would be in this thread would know a good bit about the problems already.

If you are part of, or know a lot about the BU, it would be interesting to hear more about how you actually think they should go about things. What is their purpose, to you?

26 of those years the worlds greatest Evertonian has been in a position of power and influence at the club and we managed just an FA Cup win in that time.

In the five years prior to that we were English Chamions twice, FA Cup winners once and won the European Cup Winners Cup once.

Like I said we have just one board member in situ, that has got to be detrimental.

Well that should around ............................................ now.

That was KEIOC, granted its part of the BU.

KEIOC is still around and hopefully we shall have an insight from them at the meeting at the Casa on 11 July.
