The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

Who gives a damn where the money comes from. At least the board aren't taking money out of the club and are running it well from a business perspective. I hate to tell you but that's about as good as it gets with boards and companies.

Only in football does anyone expect the owners to continually pump money in and bar the exceptions of the obvious (and even Roman has stopped doing that) what other teams do it.

We might not spend loads on transfer but we do spend a lot on wages which if you look at statistics are more of and indication where you will finish.

I'm sick of the Moyes everton thinking let's all get behind the manager, board and team because for once I believe them when they say they're serious about top 4.

Well done to BSKYB for giving us so much money, if only we could improve our own commercial revenues.

Come on SKY, build us a new stadium.
This is why some of us are less inclined to heap praise upon the board. All they've done is cling on until the new TV deal arrived.

If you think we are run well, I'd hate to see us run badly in your eyes.

A well run club wouldn't be reliant on player sales and tv money to buy players.

Our revenue streams just aren't big enough for a top 7 football club and good management has saved our board's arse's

History will repeat itself, Wages will go up, the next few windows transfers budget will be spent this summer. This board have for a number of years looked at short term solutions since Wyness decided to outsource everything for guaranteed cash instead of improving the way we work.

But hey, we have spent money Sky gave us. Lets celebrate like its 1999.

No disrespect, but an amateur documentary isn't necessarily going to be the best way you might see of promoting your 'brand'.

In addition, turning any US interest into tangible income, is no easy feat.

Of course not, but the point was that a few months back, on these boards, the whole subject of branding us in the US was discussed, and the overwhelming thoughts of the Americans on here was that Everton were pushing on an open door re setting themselves up as the working mans club, the bulwark to Russian/Arab money. Main Street Joe's club. Or something like that.

And that was before Tim Howard became a household name over there.

The documentary was just one idea, and some bloke over there, a journo or something, was bang up for doing it.

Better than doing squat, which is what we seem to be doing.

We were shat in 1999, we may win something in 2015 and it would make the spending very worthwhile wouldn't it

If this window closes and there's no major outgoings, I defy anyone to say it's not been a great window for the club and one in which the board have heavily backed the manager, in trying to take the club onto the next level.

Not just a journo but one of the big journos like.
I'd argue for those who say that we are well run that the commercial and branding aspect of the club is average at best.
You only have to look at the Kitbag deal which severely limits the growth of the club with regards to kit sales and exposure, and the failure of the club to self promote into areas of growth like the us is poor.

It will be a great window, even if we bring no more players in, id class it as great.

It's about time a manager of ours has been backed, i hope its not the last one for a while.

The yanks and asians dont care about marketing etc. They just want to say they support a top side.

Need to get champions league consistently and then go on these tours.
