On the face of it I agree, however I also understand the cynicism of others.

I'd prefer to hear from the club before seeing a mass fume against the board, otherwise it just looks like any news that us fans aren't happy with is used as a stick to beat the board with. If we're going to criticise the board, we must be fair in doing so and in fairness they have rejected all bids up to now and said he's not for sale.

It does appear that a few folk are letting their views on the board get in the way of the fact that Stones has asked to leave, rather than focusing on the fact that all bids have been rejected.

I think Stones has had bad form here, but as I say I understand (but don't necessarily agree with) others' cynical outlook.

I think its the timing more than anything; people automatically thinking that the money is straight into balancing the books. It happens all over the place, its just that we are focussed on our club, Berbatov signed for united literally seconds before the window shut after telling the club he wanted to go a couple of hours before.

But we don't know whats happend in the background, word could have gotten to Stones that hes going to be a definte starter and thats changed his mind. We'll never know, either way hes forced the hand and made his feelings public.

IMO its nothing dfferent than how we got Stones, people told him to stay and develop at Barnsley but they got a bid they couldn't refuse and he moved on and up, Bale the same. Its just a part of football. My biggest gripe is how the press have acted and in particular that tool Mourinho, hes played this out in public, him and his players. If it goes through Everton should ensure this is dragged before the PL, make a public stink of the situation (but we won't)

In that case I'll make an analogy (With your permission?)

Bill Pavlov's dogs.......

Over time, some of bill pavlov's dogs began to resent the cack they were being fed, day after day as a reward when bill pavlov rang the bell and they reacted by salivating......No matter how much bill pavlov tried to disguise the tripe he was feeding them as something else, those dogs wern't having it....Some didn't even react by salivating when the bell rang in the end........However, some did & some still wolfed it down the same horridable garbage that was being served.

And those who continued to slobber & then get fed had the temerity to call the ones who didn't 'embarrassing to the doggy race.'

Sorry bill pavlov....Some of us dogs just aren't havin' it anymore. Not from you - and not from your 'subjects'.
101 Salvations good film that

Everton and westbrom have alot of responsibility and can make a big statement. I hope both clubs keep their players and show these players who are the bosses.

Berbatov is one example at one club. Got any more similar examples from spurs - like about another four (of their best players in the respective seasons) in the same timeframe?

Didn't think so.

Stones follows on from Rooney, Lescott, Arteta & Fellaini - all at the same club, all under the same stewardship. Too many to be coincidence, imo.

How about Keane £19m, Modric £30m, Bale £92m, Carrick £18m and Crouch for £10m

Oh and btw, they've had a negative net spend of minus £58m in the last 5 years

You're welcome

Do you want to include Modric and Bale, (going back even further Carrick) forced the move to Utd into that list as well.

How about Utd; Ronaldo and now DeGea lookign to move on.
Arsenal, Overmars, Petit, Viera, Van Persie, Anelka.
The RS; Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Suarez, Sterling.
Southampton; Schneiderlin, Clyne, Lallana, Shaw, Lovren, Chambers in the last 2 years, Bale, Walcott and Chamberlain in the past

Everyone of those players wanted to leave their clubs to better their careers.

Its football. Get over it

So much for the ignore button......ho-hum. :coffee:

They all in the last days of the window? Keane wasn't. Nor was he on good behaviour at spurs neither.

Have we been offered anywhere's near the proportionate value for Stones as they did bale? Nope. Were spurs ever gonna turn down that sort of money? Nope. Even I'd sell Stones for bale money!

I don't remember either asking for net spends, or saying thank you - so there's really no need to prematurely tell me I'm welcome......Especially when you haven't even answered my question correctly - and on behalf of somebody else I might add, as you're supposed to be ignoring me

Ok, for starters how many of them actually put in transfer requests in the last week of the window?

Ratboy was always gonna be off so why have you included him? Clyne signed for them about 5-6 weeks ago so that's not last minute is it? lallana signed right after the WC, not in the last week.

Walcott was bought mid january. Chamberlain early August. Not last week in august.

Shaw was bought in JUNE.

Three of the arsenal players left no later than mid-august so that disqualifies them from last week of the window. Anelka? Pfft!

united bought schneiderlin in july. Again not the last week of the window.

city bought sterling 5-6 weeks ago....Not this week.......See what I'm getting at?

See my reply to FLHD about keane.............

Put your tin hat on lad. Everton haven't sold him, hes put a request in...see what i'm getting at

The players are the ones who force the move, thats my point. Regardless if its the start of the season or the end of the window, players have the power.

So your saying that the club are telling these players to wait until the last minute and put a request in?? Quite strange as to why Baines and Coleman never left then, or even Barkley, or McCarthy or Kev.

We have assets to sell all over the shop.

To be honest I couldnt give a damn who other clubs have sold, when, where or for how much
Truth of the matter is we are standing still as a club, theres no forward planning, no vision,no leadership
