Football clubs aren't about yearly profits though.

They're about owning for the prestige and then selling for a profit. Like a van gogh painting, or a 800 year old wine. You keep them in your attic, tell everyone you meet you own one and then flog it for five times what it cost you.

The way to make money isn't by running one but by holding out for a ridiculous fee and selling it. Nobody actually gets more out of a club then they put in on a year to year basis but you increase it's value in the market which is the actual goal.

Bobby pulls a couple of top four finishes out of his hat and Bill might even get the 9 figure deal he wants.

I agree. Kenwright isn't the total ogre some make him out to be.

Yes, we could do better, but we could also do worse ie. Vincent Tam.

Well theres the whole blackhole that is OOC and then theres the murky world of offshore loans.

As I say, im not convinced.

Got to wonder why the self declared Evertonian that professes to love the club but admits he can't afford to run it properly, has held onto it for so long and what all these NDA's are about.

But if there are no realistic buyers, what is he to do? Give it to charity?

There would have been realistic buyers at a realistic price but even the super rich don't like being taken the piss out of. The Qatar Investment Authority, and the Ambani's are two that have been close and then ****ed off.

Kenwrights failures are well documented. If he had done what he's done here at Spurs or Arsenal for instance he'd have been hounded out of the door.

To compare him to Tam is a bit weird. That fella has took a nothing club and got them into the premier league in a brand new stadium.

Let's get one thing straight Bill Kenwright doesn't own Everton football club he has but a 24% shareholding.
He alone cannot sell the club, only advise his fellow shareholders to accept any would be offers.
If any parties were interested in buying Everton then to go public with a hostile bid would be the way forward,a common practice in company takeovers.

Like Gregg did?

Getting top bankruptcy expert Robert Earl to shore up a significant chunk of shares was a slick move.

Couple of things.

First, he insists, as per GM at the Phil, that he is THE owner.

Two, he can sell his own shares if he WANTS to, he doesn't need anyone's permission.

If there are buyers at any price, why don't they make themselves known ?

Realistically , there will be no buyers for Everton until a new stadium is in place.
It simply would cost too much to build a stadium after buying the club, even at a knock down price.

That's simply not true.

He can sell his 24% but this will not bring about a new owner, not even one with a controlling interest, for that you need a majority shareholding of over 50%.
I've yet to see any conclusive proof of the board turning down offers from would be buyers with the right financial clout to enable us to compete with the City's and Chelsea's of this world.

What about the right financial clout to not sell our best players every season and use the money to stay afloat? Any evidence of that?

We're a curious one Everton. Just nobody at all, when the football worlds gone takeover crazy, seems to want to know us.
