had moyes not took over we would be sat in the bottom half or worse in the championship as another "sleeping giant" I wonder how many would still love Bill had that happen.

Kenwrights ownership is the equivalent of a clueless parent hiring a nanny at random who is loved by the kids and brings them up right with the parent then taking the glory and plaudits for the nanny's work unbelievable!

shouldnt they be in CL then

That is the biggest mystery in world football mate. Spunked about £50m already, with another £50m lined up. And they are League One.

And he is a real fan. Not some johnny come lately. Converted all the loans, (£40m) into equity, so no debt. Tried to build a stadium, so now spending £40 m on upgrading their existing one.

Correct, I'm trying to win some work on the upgrade of that stadium. Also quoting for work on a club which was recently promoted from non-league on there new stadium which will be a quality stadium for the lower leagues.

It would be unfair to blame bill for one summer when he,s had 15 years of cock ups.

I

It would be remiss of me to forget to mention the other fella on the everton board the spurs fan who makes a good living out of us, who can afford to spend money. Too busy counting the interest money from the club loans.

Great! you've got evidence that a board member at Everton is making 'a good living' out of the club. And this evidence is.............over to you Inspector Cluff.......

What do people expect? The ownership of Everton is and will continue to be a polarized situation and one that could have be avoided if the current owners and crew had done the right thing years ago. This lot have no intention of leaving now they have seen the trough get filled up with more TV money and they have pushed their snouts deeper. Everything that could have been sold to keep the owner in power has been sold off to keep the custodians in charge. The club is littered with NDA,s from the tea lady to the management team in an attempt to keep the inner workings of the club from prying eyes to the point of withdrawing AGM,s

The club is rotten inside and standing by and hoping for the best after 15 years will not move us forward.

The one gaping hole in your theory is the simple fact, that despite their 'snouts' being in your metaphorical trough for a good few years now, they've not managed to swallow a morsel to date.

Nothing has been 'sold' baring the old training ground btw.

I'm not going to dredge back over all of that yet again, as it's been done to death.

Oh, it's all good then.

Wonder why we're so reliant on TV income, why we're tied into a crap 25 year mortgage with Prudential, and why the ground's antiquated ? "No idea mate, the board's been performing very well over the last fortnight or so"

Didn't they sell the new one too???

Don't let me stop you going to work. When you've got to go, you've got to go. Finished for today, me, apart from a couple of phone calls. Manchester tomorrow and Stockport Friday. How's your week going ?
If you spend an amount on players that youre happy with this summer, and still finish 5th, will you still blame Bill?

Cant see Kenwright allowing the manager to spend £60million.

I am confused.
If Lerner did approach Kenwright and got knocked back,is that a good or a bad thing?

Football clubs are huge companies with enormous turnovers. Football is a business.
The manager obviously is vital , but the running of the football club is as important.
It is where both sides of the club are being well run that a club prospers.

At Everton ,that is largely the case and consequently our club is performing well.

It's not perfect,as with many others I feel there are opportunities not being taken to market the Everton brand
to it's full potential.
But there is a lot right about the way the club is run.
I regard myself as a middle of the road supporter. I do not blindly support the board ,but equally I do not blindly call for change as some do with no idea of what the change will bring just so long as it isn't called Kenwright.
Some people were afraid of a change of manager, and look how that's turned out

What do people want from Bill? It seems as though some think the finances of a club are all about the net trasfer amount when they really aren't. The club isn't making the sort of profit that would warrant heavy investment in it so why do people expect the club to be able to afford any new shiny toys?

The board is doing a decent job. What do people want? A mickey mouse millionare who's gonna saddle the club with debt he can't afford and then leave us in trouble he can't take us out of?

Our way is basically working. We're coming 4th behind 2 traditional big clubs and 2 billionare toys. Either we compete using smarts like we have been or we go the villa route, I know what I'd prefer

One thing I would like to see improve is the marketing/commercial side of things. Perhaps an american can come in and sort that out. There's no reason why we make such a dismal amount of money even in comparison to clubs that can't match us on the pitch.

Not really..we did the same but on a smaller scale than the HSBC, BHS, and others, big players in the sell and lease back game.
We sold a plot of land for £2 mn and are leasing it back for £75 mn.

Not really as good a deal as HSBC don't you think?

So how did a positive assets balance of £25mn turn into a negative liabilities balance of £45mn considering we only got £10mn for Bellefield?
