His main attribute is that he is not a psycho like Vincent Tan (and his ability to pick managers), he hasn't got the money to put into the club. His bank account could buy that much, if Aston villa is sold to a good owner willing to invest in the team without trying to destroy it's heritage or run the club from behind the scenes that will determine my thoughts on him cause he's better than turning in to Blackburn or Leeds by a long way. On the other hand Great signings is what has kept the club moving forward not Bill, he's just a lucky [Poor language removed] taking all the credit when it could of so easily gone the other way round

He certainly hasn't done anything to warrant being called an excellent chairman

Johnson and Smith.

Saying Kenwright is better than Johnson is like saying one turd is shinier than another turd.

Common knowledge.
johnson couldnt even speak to the media in them days.
thats why he appointed a manager that no one could understand.
the system worked well.
until they both got found out.
enter bill .who spoke at least in a language that we understood.and apparantly paid the money as well.
kept us going till now.
and has openly admitted that he will not stand in the way of any new owner if it is for the overall good of efc.
dont like mentioning the other side but there are many r/s who cant stand the mention of david moores who they still claim to this day..sold them down the river.
the day will come when bill will happily pass the club on but for now lets get behind our new manager and look fwd to the next season..

The day hasn't come in over ten years and if you think kenwright will ever sell your insane. There's something not right board room level and has been that way whilst he's chairman he's not the man to make us great or take us forward I don't know who is but if kenwright Thinks a rich sugar daddy will invest and let him remain chairman is obsurd. He's a fraud and he's touched lucky with two managers ( so far) kenwright is under no pressure to sell or do anything whilst we're playing ok and doing ok, it would take relegation or a relegation battle for the pressure to be put on him

@Steve Wigan

I've separated your response out for you mate

No it's completely unacceptable, verging on illegal business practice to intentionally mislead fellow shareholders. Why try to argue differently and how does this lead you to trust Bill ?

So the ringfenced money didn't exist, and would only ever exist on the say so of banks not yet obtained. Blatant bull from the king of crap and this leads you to trust him ?

Didn't make up the media campaign, it's timing, nor the inside acknowledgement that our board uses media manipulation (see Ross's emails). If someone is is low enough to do that to friends/colleagues what else are they capable of ?

Ross's emails, his sacking immediately after, and being published on various websites without legal action is the evidence. Why try denying that, you've only briefly met Bill at the theatre once ?

The "vote losers" weren't the ones in writing that the stadium would be world class and effectively free though. Why avoid the point ?

Just shows the type of businessmen...those that like to avoid declaration of their ownership interests and tax implications. But you find that fine for an EFC co owner ?

Certain types of clubs. Did you notice that Earl is also based in the BVI btw ?

The CEO brief is to manage OOC's but chairmen should have a good overview and working knowledge. The answer "I have no idea what OOC's are" is only acceptable in Toytown. What is the detailed split of OOC's in the accounts you're referring to ?

Proactive office in St James....alert........various proactive shareholders including Dunford at Everton......no alert

All opinion, and based on your agenda. Its all about interpretation like everything else. I'm surprised you've not mentioned the old chestnut ' He said he wouldn't sell Rooney for less than £50 million, so he lied' ...how many times have many of us said to someone ,,'do that again and youre dead' ? or 'I'll kill you for that'. Does that mean that if you don't commit murder, youre a liar. Or how about 'I love this house...wouldn't sell it for a million pounds'...if you accept an offer for a million pounds, are you a liar. There is no such thing as a 'perfect' chairman in football, as in any business, but it does seem that the 'usual suspects(there I go again!) expect absolute 100% perfection from the chairman of Everton. Bills weaknesses, in my OPINION, are that the nature of his actual real life job in the theatre encourages sentimentality and exaggeration. I meet these same traits in people every day of my working life. Its the nature of the business, which is at the same time tough and uncompromising. Opposites, almost. When Bill became chairman, he involved the same people who had been involved in his theatrical ventures...he 'sold then another dream'...he 'sold' Everton to Gregg, Phil Green, etc as if it was another show in which to invest. This was not the way, long term, to run a football club, particularly after the really big Russian and Oil sheiks money came into the business/game. Its like trying to run the Liverpool Playhouse next door to the biggest theatre on Broadway....ultimately it will fail because you can't afford the stars, and put on the most successful shows. Bill Kenwright knows this. His detractors on this forum on the one hand say he is stupid 'is not a businessman', and in the next breath say he is manipulative and devious...excellent traits in any top businessman. Everton Football Club WILL be sold, and when the sentimental side of Bill Kenwright feels he has found a new owner who will not destroy the club he loves, he will encourage the other main shareholders to sell. And the price will be what someone is prepared to pay, more like the price of an upgraded Playhouse than a top Broadway theatre.

Steve you keep mentioning Bill "selling the dream" to these people quite easily so why hasnt he been able
to "sell the dream" to somebody thats looking to buy a football club?

I could eat a horse is another one Steve

As I said, it was possible to get along before the really big money game into the game, and Bills weakness is also on acassions his greatest strength, his sentimentality. He won't sell to anyone(contrary to what many on here think), it will have to be a buyer who is going to benefit the club. Maybe he is being too 'picky'...I don't know. Also I don't think its possible anymore to sell a football club as if it was a show...the whole business has got too big and money based. He NEEDS to sell, and I'm sure he knows this, but he is in a catch 22 situation, if he sells to the 'wrong' person, he will be blamed by some, if he sells to the right person, the usuals will suggest he's profiteering , or blame him for some other alledged misdemeanour. I think, just my opinion, that Bill thinks his 'legacy' at Everton depends almost entirely on the next owner of Everton. He can't win either way, because football is such now that the next owners will buy with a view to making a profit, and will have less interest in the club as an 'institution' and more interested in the club as a possible cash cow. Whatever happens Bill will take the blame but will not given the credit.

I agree to a certain extent of what you have said Steve, i think Bill had good intentions but the type of people he has brought on board are ruthless to say the least. He beat the attempted takeover by Gregg with the mysterious Samuelson fronting an investment group.

Then brought an even more ruthless partner to the table of Earl/Green. Now, Bill could find a perfect owner to run us but do you really think his choice holds much sway with Earl/Green?? He was backed initially by the Gregg family, I'm sure that debt is now owed to Earl/Green. They will be the ones with all the aces up the sleeves. They will gladly wait for a maximum return on its investment than the right owner to take us forward. They don't care one iota about us.

One day, we will get the full story of what has happened behind closed doors, but it will only come out once one of the main players has passed away.
