The Everton Board Thread

If they got relegated the year 777 took over, can 777 really be blamed for that? Depends on what was going on I guess. They’re second in Serie B now

777 bought them when they were in Serie A - in September 2021.

Genoa were related May 2022.

I'm not going to try and blag here I know what they've done, or anything about Genoa. Apparently they give load of players the bums rush an signed a load of young players in the january.

I'm half arsed trying to learn - half arsed because it's not that credible at the moment. I reckon 95% on here, including myself - have no clue about 777, their portfolio and are relying on very recent history/context for a relatively new investment firm - football wise.

One another thing from the Athletic article was they said they wanted to replicate the “Monchi model” across all their clubs. I.e buy young players and sell them for high prices. They seem to talk a good game but probably still to be seen if they can back that up

Which will be refreshing as we won't be putting out fires on the accounts, be threatened with insolvency, embargoes, points deductions etc. It'll just be a normal stable club.
I'll add to your last sentence. It'll just be a normal stable club always languishing in the bottom half and hoping to go on some sort of cup run.

If you're working to keep investors happy, you'll run a tight ship I guess and hopefully be competitive all around.

In an ideal world, you have a Moshiri type for putting money in who isn't bat poop crazy, who instils a competent exec/board an lets them run the show.

From what I find on google its 64.7% of Hertha Berlin, they're also in the relegation zone. It seems like they've been gambling on historic clubs that are posting big losses and struggling on the pitch.

Genoa appear to be going back up into Serie A at least.
This. They are looking to capitalise on struggling clubs with a historically strong and robust fanbase. There is nothing in their portfolio that demonstrates any cup or league success. If they purchase us we will be in the doldrums of mediocrity for years. However a lot of you, understandably, welcome this as a viable alternative to the s**t show we've experienced with Moshiri. be careful what you wish for. I prefer to see Everton going toe to toe with the likes of Newcastle, Spurs, Chelsea etc. I'm not interested in dogfights with Burnley, Bournemouth and Brighton. Surely we have some pride in our History here. You are effectively wishing to be a small club.

As opposed to maintaining a steady course to liquidation?

Investors making money doesn’t have to be a bad thing necessarily as long as they run a club responsibly

I mean this is what every clubwants right? This is the same "plan" that Walsh and Brands came to Everton with.
