The Everton Board Thread

Exactly, and I do wonder if the fact Kenwright and DBB keep clinging on is their knowledge and acceptance of the arrangement and / or the fact no one credible would come in and replace them while the arrangement stays in place.

We need the lot of them gone.
I think you're bang on here. After all it's well established Kenwright sent City's current owners away when they came knocking. Moshiri and Usmanov probably came to them with this arrangement that would keep Kenwright as the face of the operation. All the dodgy sponsors and all that aside it does line up perfectly and make total sense.

I've grown to look at it this way, Marcel Brands wasn't a success here but it is clear that he's at least somewhat ok at his job as he's gone back after us and found another job. Despite that though he was a board member that was effectively sacked and is the only one to have that treatment, despite him argueably being one of the more competent people that occupied that area of the club at the time, he was the only outsider though, easy scapegoat. He's also sparsely talked about his time at Everton and will likely have been made sign NDAs and the like to prevent him from spilling any beans.

The rest won't be gotten rid of because they "know how the sausage is made" so to speak, Everton is the end point for each of them as they know they're not here on merit or anything like that, it's a hush up club, shows again why they're all paid so well even with such little experience and poor results. Getting rid of Brands made no logical sense when the rest of them still remained, aside from him who's the last "outsider" to have any sort of influence at Everton, Elstone maybe?

Perhaps it's time we as fans maybe move on from seeing this board as simply incompetent fools and move more towards to seeing how genuinely sinister and criminal it all is. In keeping with everything else he's shown us as fans Kenwright went with the deal that was best for him and his mates, not for Everton. He'll be here until Moshiri isn't, they're tied together because if one goes the other has to follow considering the implications of whatever dodgy dealings they've done.

I'm very excited for when we get new ownership, because I no longer identify with the club. The Moshiri era has made me not even like my own club, and feel embarrased.
I don't think another Billionaire or Investment Group is going to change that. I fear it going even further away from what we believe Everton to be.

Do they call the shots at Seville mate? How much of Seville do they own?
Someone just said 15% earlier in the thread so it doesn't appear so.

A lot of questions about how much power they'll have in the club. My concern is that with them being involved in other organizations there is a real risk we become sidelined as a less important part of their portfolio or worse, leveraged to support another more valuable asset/club.

100%. The fan groups, even though they are doing good work keeping up the pressure, are still a bit reluctant to tackle Moshiri head on even though he’s ultimately responsible. Presumably there is a fear he just says “sod this” and pulls the plug, but he and his pal stand to lose more than anyone by doing so.

Like you say the problem is deeper and more sinister. Even if he bins BK and DBB I’ve no faith in Moshiri to appoint someone suitable or reputable to replace them. It might help a bit, and some fresh investors on the board might keep him in check, but him and his pal are the disease and we only heal when they’re fully gone.

15%.

All of Genoa though (I think).

That's interesting.

I've just 'googled and I can see they bought Genoa in 2021;

Looks like they were in Serie A then, but I can see they've been relegated to Serie B for the first time in 15 years.

Have they done anything good for Genoa? Have they invested any money? According to a quick google, it looks like they've spent buttons too;

Would an aggressive, forensic examination of the EFC accounts reveal a mass of uncomfortable data and connections? The thought of it is enough to make somebody ill.

If they got relegated the year 777 took over, can 777 really be blamed for that? Depends on what was going on I guess. They’re second in Serie B now

I’m not so concerned about this. Their biggest club is Sevilla who are a big club but La Liga is on its arse. A healthy, Premier League, Everton would be a bigger asset and probably the biggest priority. Also bear in mind that with clubs in Spain, Germany, France and Italy already there is little scope for them to invest in a bigger club subsequently, they’ll have the five main leagues covered.

Can't seem to find anything - they started off horribly, 777 hired Shevchenko as manager and he also wasn't great, but it seems they got about 15 draws; their keeper had 10 clean sheets in a season where they had 4 wins somehow.

I'll ask a mate who watches a lot of Italian footy out of interest now really lol

This relies on two big assumptions:

  1. We stay up
  2. They don't buy anyone bigger

These aren't guaranteed.
