The Everton Board Thread

He literally didn't want the best manager in the world. He actively lobbied to not appoint the best manager in the world. His words not mine. Now that is shocking.
Maybe he was thinking longer term, part of the project he was brought here to do? As much as I loved CA being our manager, his contract had an escape clause in it, Brands would have known that.
Hindsight I know but, where we were at that point CA was a vanity appointment, and as with almost everything else in this basket case of a club, decisions were made on 'what's the best for me?' instead of 'what's the best for the club'.
Brands was the last ember of sanity at Everton and Benitez finished him off. And still people think he was a good appointment 🙄

My recollections of when Brands departed was wasn't it shortly after he got harangued as he was leaving a match probably the first time the abuse was aimed at him?
He cacked himself mumbling something about it not being his fault and resigned shortly after realising his time was up
Don't think he 'cacked himself' more defended his position.
So many saw him as a villain, he was far from it.

Kenwright doesn't care what pair it is as long as he remains in control, don't forget far before Moshiri and Usmanov, there was Phil Green and Robert Earl, he never cared whose money he spends or where it's from as long as it's not his...
And before that it was Chris Samuelson and Boris Zingarevich, who later drove Reading to the wall

2004: Gregg tries to oust BK so BK gets ChrisSamuelson on board, who is known for setting up opaque funds/companies to allow oligarchs and money launderers to buy football clubs and cover it up.

2006: After it didn’t work out with Samuelson BK recruits the help of Philip Green and Robert Earl, and takes out loans from companies in tax havens with opaque ownership structures,

2016: BK sells his shares to the business partner of an oligarch who is now under investigation for money laundering

Kenwright is an absolute snake and yet even on here, he still has people who worship him, unbelievable, I can't believe I'm still saying that, with Kenwrights track record of dubious partners, outright failure and lining his own pockets in the process.

He was actively trying to build a style of play at the club. Not lurch from defensive manager to attacking manager and then back to defensive. He wanted silva and then arteta. He had a type of manager he was after. It’s a long term project which we haven’t given any time to.

FM and BK both have big enough egos to think they should be involved in football decisions. What I don’t understand is why they bother with DOFs at all

Prime example when Koeman took over we finished up with was it four or five number tens, laughable. Think Bill brought Rooney in, ( being a blue home), Koeman signed Davey Klaassan, there was a young Croatian, Siggurdson and I can't think of anymore atm, but they all had a go each, how not to run a football club in one easy lesson the Everton way.
