The Everton Board Thread

Premier League football clubs don`t come available to buy very often.... Chelsea became available for £4bn, sold in no time. Man Ure likely to go for over £5bn but no one willing to touch Everton for well publicised reasons.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is desperate for a PL club, he was in for Chelsea and now in for Utd, although the latest is that he now wants 50% of Utd and wants to keep the Glazers on in a minority percentage.

For £2.5bn he could buy Everton many times over, a shrewd business man could make more money or get more for his money buying Everton than buying Utd or Chelsea.

I'm not an experting in footballing circles or finances, however I suspect an issue for investors may be the fact we're 2/1 on to not be a PL team next year.

He really wouldn’t.
Of course you would, what does Moshiri want £500m? A team competing for Europe in a couple of years would be worth £1.5bn-£2bn+, if you buy Utd for £5bn how much is that worth in a couple of years? It wont double, triple or quadruple in price!

This club has so much potential but it has never been realised because we have been completely and negligently mismanaged.

The Glazers bought United for a reported £790 million, using loans secured against the club's assets, and are now selling it for a reported £5bn.

That's a five-fold increased, before considering how much they've taken out the club since then. But, Everton are a better prospect?

Well there’s the initial payment
Then there’s whatever extra comes with the stadium
Then there’s the fact we need a huge cash injection to change the squad which we can’t do with FFP
Then there’s the fact we have 2, maybe 3 saleable assets in the squad
Then there’s the fact all our commercial deals and shirt sponsors etc. suck (haven’t even got a sleeve sponsor)
Then there’s the fact we are so low down in the table we aren’t bringing PL placement money in
Then there’s the fact all of this adds up to not being attractive to outside sponsorship
Then there’s the fact we’re under investigation

This doesn’t even include the scenario we go down.

Aren’t you an accountant?

He wants closer to a £1bn but the club has only been valued at something like £300-400m. He has put a lot in but it was wasted and it's his own fault at the end of the day. 777 apparently do want a takeover but won't pay what Moshiri wants, they have their own valuation. Moshiri is lucky that the government haven't come chasing after him just yet (it has been mentioned) otherwise he could be forced into a sale and it would be out of his hands.

While we are a much cheaper alternative, Ratcliffe is only looking at making a return on his investment and we require massive investment and time to get us back to where we want to be.
I just don’t see it as he’s not another boys-pen product nor on a Hollywood-vanity project

Correct, the Glazers bought Utd in 2005, 17 years ago, in that time the Premier League has changed alot....

Just think for one second... if you buy Utd for £5bn how much can you sell it for in 2-5 years? Even if it is £6bn that doesnt represent the amount of profit you could make turning Everton around for what middle of the road Premier League clubs are likely to fetch in that 2-5 years.

We have a top 10 turnover, Brighton and Brentford are bottom 10. Throwing money at our issues is more of the same as what we`ve just seen isn`t it.

Everton doesn`t need stupid money thrown at it, it needs what it always needed, people/professionals at the top of the club knowing what they are doing with a recruitment team that also know what they are doing.

Yes going down would see a 50% loss in TV revenue that is why change is needed, if it is still Moshiri and Bull 💩 Bill I think negativity will still be there and we don`t get back up straight away, new owners would lift that big negative cloud.

Think you’re insanely overrating how much someone could flip us for personally. We do need stupid money thrown at us. Even well run clubs like Brighton are having to throw £30m to get a striker.

There is still money to be made from this set of players, as others have said there is still players that can be sold for decent money, the majority of that could be re-invested. Lets face it I`d not be arsed if any of this current crop got flogged on...

Pickford, Onana, maybe Dom, that is literally it for meaningful sales. We also have to be allowed to reinvest it which doesn't currently look possible.

How can a Ratcliffe get a bigger profit on us than someone like United exactly? They bring in a ridiculous amount of money.

But we have baggage. Last time we were 'sold' the baggage came in the form of the greatest living evertonian...
Now, according to the media, and thanks to him, it's us.
