Struggling to see how they could asset strip and get anything close to the 600m invested. Surely this is longer term

They apparently want to be a self sufficient investment fund that doesn't rely on banks.

So their portfolio will be full of assets they bought reasonably and boost their value.

With us and the money in the league, the stadium is the draw so would be worth the punt as a step forward in this field.

Indeed mate.

We are a lesson to anyone in the league of what not to do.

The wage bill has decreased quite a bit in the last year or two though, and should go down significantly again next season ( even if we stay in this league )
It's still something like 90% of our turnover though, it needs to be down around 60-70% Hence we simply can't afford to drop 100k+ contracts on Iwobi and Doucoure anymore.

Yep, can't believe we are even considering offering people like iwobi a new contract. He's been mostly poo and is on massive wages.

We should be staying clear of that and going for players like Onana, garner etc.

Lower wages, higher ceiling etc

Onana is on decent money and the only concern with players like him is the higher the fee then the higher the wages usually are, but I agree we should be targeting younger players with resale value.

No I agree Moshiri might actually be one of the all time worst football owners, he just didn't have a clue. I also don't see the point in the story, there is no immenent sale, unless we are safe. We aren't safe so the sale isn't immenent, so why is the story being run? Could be to deflect away from yesterday's news of clubs taking peak action against one and other. All this news really does is to show us as the utterly crazy club we have become.
It's a difficult one - I wholeheartedly agree that almost every decision he's made about how to actually run the club has proved disastrous - however, the boldness and vision as far as Bramley Moore goes is something I never thought we'd see, so despite it all he'll leave with that as a huge black mark in the ledger.

The fella is a loon, but I can't fault the fact he's dreamt big and thrown money at it all. Shame he largely hasn't had a clue.

He tried to get football people in to deal with the football side and put a structure in but they all failed massively - Walsh, Brands and Thelwells spent hundreds of millions to make the team worse

And I, for one, welcome our new asset stripping overloads

Not sure I see how this is a better situation than what we had previous. So basically instead of being run by moshiri with usmanov in the background helping to fund. We potentially now could be run by one of these American firms who suck all the profit out of the club like the glazers.

Yes Moshiri made some pretty bad decisions on the way. But one can't detract from his willingness to invest money in the team. Personally I don't like these American takeovers, there is a reason man utd want the glazers out.

To Read that this 777 firm also have stakes in genoa, vasco da gama etc doesn't exactly whet the appetite either.

Pre season should be sorted then, box off a little tournament v Sevilla, Genoa and Hertha Berlin.

If they're competent in their chosen professions and qualified to do the job such as commercial growth, long term planning, then I'm all for it.

Relegated or not, we simply can't continue with how we've been run the last 20 odd years. It has to stop now once and for all

There is no usmanov anymore. That's why moshiri is selling up. He has no money and is just a front for a gangster who can't spend his cash in the west as easily anymore.

American owners will be more common in the next few years. Some are ok. I always thought arsenal's owner was a tit, but they seem to have changed their tune and are doing ok now. I could understand everyone's reluctance if we were a well run club, but we are a mess on the brink of relegation and administration. There is no other/better option.

The original reason the fans wanted the Glazers out was the leveraged buyout and how they used the club's own revenue to service the debt they created in buying the club. Hicks and Gillett did the same thing across the park and it's absolutely scandalous that it's a business model which is legal. As time has gone on, the Glazers haven't shown much aptitude for running the club either.
