Not sure I see how this is a better situation than what we had previous. So basically instead of being run by moshiri with usmanov in the background helping to fund. We potentially now could be run by one of these American firms who suck all the profit out of the club like the glazers.

Yes Moshiri made some pretty bad decisions on the way. But one can't detract from his willingness to invest money in the team. Personally I don't like these American takeovers, there is a reason man utd want the glazers out.

To Read that this 777 firm also have stakes in genoa, vasco da gama etc doesn't exactly whet the appetite either.

But Moshiri has put himself and the club in that position IMO.

Rumoured to be a £600mill buyout. That really narrows down who'd want to buy us due to how completely unattractive we are as a club that he's created.

You don't really see billionaires coming in seeing a relegation threatened club that makes losses every year and millions of investment to finish a stadium and going "Yeah, that's a bargain at £600mill mate".

Even the Qataris jibbed him off at the world cup

The only thing that has anyone interested is the stadium.

Is Myers actually privy to detailed club info? In the pastvit seemed like he would just regurgitate what was already circulating in the rumor sphere with no real knowledge but just had a proclivity to insert himself into the conversation. It seems this season , he might be more clued in but I'm still dubious of the accuracy of his claims

I don't know tbh.

He could easily be right. Just because something makes no logical sense to me doesn't mean it won't happen. This is Everton.

The minority investment scenario makes no sense to me at all. Why would a group invest tens of millions of pounds to have a minority stake and not be able to control strategic decision making. Commercially, I don't get it, and that's why I find it very hard to believe MSP are the most likely investors.

Time will tell, but my gut instinct says that Moshiri probably wants out. He isn't looking for an investor, he is looking for a buyer.

The idea that all we need is a new investor to help the current leadership, is also total nonsense. We need a full buy out and a total change of leadership and direction. You don't get that from a new investor acquiring a small stake.
Unless it's a staged buyout (a bit like what Moshiri did).

Face it, none of us k ow what's going on. No point fretting over it for countless pages.

I honestly feel a bit sorry for Moshiri. A clown who's trusted the wrong people with his money. He has produced soft stools with more ambition than Super-Blue Bill.

Can't fault him on his signing cheque's record.

I think we can all be forgiven for being skeptical in these new owners, due to what has ended up happening with Moshiri and Bill.

But, if we look deeper at the facts, I feel we can be a little optimistic about what they would / could do.

Clearly targeting under-performing clubs with the idea of improving them.

Time will tell, but this feels more like what we really need. Stability, and to be self-sustainable.
I know this is going to be really unpopular with some, but essentially we need to get back to where we were with Moyes at his best. Spending our money really carefully and getting into Europe. If we can turn the ship around and move into our fantastic new stadium whilst doing that, then we can start to look forward. Club gets sold again in 5/7 years.

If we had a choice between Msp or 777 who would you lot prefer?
For me I don’t know enough about either to judge but the real choice is between MSP taking a minority stake and Moshiri continuing to run the club or 777 taking it over in its entirety and that’s an easy choice for me- I want Moshiri and his shady cronies gone and I think it’s a bigger priority than anything else.

Kenwright, DBB and Sharp, too.

All the fans saying "you don't need to spend dough to be successful" where were ya'll when we were finishing top 7 under Moyes every season with fantastic player trading ala Brighton but had an owner unwilling to spend that bit extra to push us on?

You (rightly) were calling for Kenwright to go as we needed an owner with money to break the glass ceiling like Newcastle are doing now.

We need someone with dough long term unless you're happy with midtable football for the next 10+ years.

2 poor seasons of relegation scraps shouldn't lower expectations to the point of us being happy to be another Crystal Palace for the rest of our days.

Come on Moshiri walk away from these Yank vultures and find us the buyer to transform us into a powerhouse again !

We will find out in the next few weeks if we are to be relegated, either on the pitch or off it.

I doubt there will be any deal concluded until that is decided as it fundamentally affects the valuation of the club.

There's 2 ways of looking at it mate. Maybe 2 years of being a well-run mid-table operation with a state of the art stadium will be more attractive to a prospective buyer with ambitions to invest in the squad and try and challenge.

It sounds like win-win for Moshiri and 777. Moshiri rid's himself of a failed investment, 777 get to come in and see in the new stadium, they'll know that it won't take much just to have us running a competent outfit, once the stadium is built they can flip us for a profit and hopefully we then get investors like what you're saying.

Venture capitalists are not stupid, even if they pump in 500 million, will it help make us compete to a level that we get European football/trophies that will in turn increase sponsorship/worldwide fanbase/value of the club? It won't, so why would they spend anymore than they have to. They'd cut our cloth accordingly to help generate a revenue stream (even if they only pocket 10 million a season) and in 5/10 years time hope that football clubs are worth X % more than they are now to return a tidy profit.

Anyone who wants us to be taken over fully by these Americans are the same as those who believed Brexit was the answer to all our issues.
