The Everton Board Thread

Let's all moan about the board then when potential investors come to the table moan about them aswell.

Blues are tiresome .

That depends what you want out of it doesn't it? Ask the RS fans, their owners at various points won't put a hand in their pocket, the club have to foot the bill. You've also seen how they will trample over everything for a few dollars more. Arsenal similar. Now luckily for them and unluckily for us they have a worldwide platform to be able to tap into bigger commercial deals to enable the clubs to get better. They also had the benefit of being pretty close to the top to start with.

Compare that to Newcastle and City whose owners who are doing this as a statement and not for profit and you will see pretty big differences in ambition.

Nothing comes without a price but I’d rather see the club run by actual ruthless businessmen despite all the negatives that brings than an anomalous unpredictably incompetent lunatic and his board of mouth breathers.

The grass isn’t always greener of course and it may not look like it but it could get worse.

So what you’re saying is these “Cowboys”, want to come in, make us profitable and then sell us for a tidy return.

In what instance can that be bad for Everton? Success and Profit go hand in hand.

Profitable can result from different approaches from the owners.

Man City are profitable under Sheikh Mansour

Newcastle were profitable under Mike Ashley

Ones fanbase have had great times the other hasn't.

That's fair, but my point is the club is 2 bad results away from huge financial difficulty and potentially administration - it's existential. I don't know how much worse it can get right now.

Moshiri tried to get us above our station - Ancelotti, James and the stadium. If we are run as a business, hoping that we at some point can get everything right whilst others falter may see us wait another 30 years on top to win something and stuck in midtable purgatory, whilst clubs like Newcastle are picking up pots. I think that is just as bad as now tbh.

PS Is there a threat of administration or this that just parroting the doom merchants? We are only not spending due to FFP rules I believe.

One had great times, one was set up for a huge buyout due to the good finances.

Now both state owned, must be terrible to be them.

Name me one football club that 777 or MSP have bought into that they have transformed into winners ?

There isn't one. People just see a group of Yanks who have stakes in a few clubs and come to the automatic conclusion that they're top dogs which is naive.

We need top brass investors with mass amounts of money backing them on top of being business savvy.

These cowboys just want to flip us for a few quid down the line they don't want a legacy like Abramovich or Shiekh Mansour have created at Chelsea/Citeh.

By legacy, do you mean sportswashing, as that`s all Mansour and Abramovich have done and that was what Usmanov was doing too, until the rug got pulled from under him.

Mansour > buying respectability and a profile, that deflects from the abhorrent regime he hails from.
Abramovich > laundering money for Putin and buying respectability in the West.

There is no decency in football ownership, it`s just that some owners are marginally less detestable and corrupt than others.

Anyone who gets rid of Kenwright and his gang of parasites, gives us the chance to at least reset. That is never happening until this current board are gone.

They haven't been at any of their clubs long enough to transform them into either winners or basket cases

Based on no real knowledge of either, MSP.

No idea why, just a gut feeling.

I'm of the same mindset.

777 are very busy acquiring numerous teams around the world. Might be over stretching themselves and being overly ambitious to say the least.

Getting Genoa from Serie B to Serie A was probably a small investment in money.

The Premier League is mega cash rich and couldn't be done on the cheap. I can see it ending in tears.

say you're right and they do just want to flip the club for a few bucks.
How would they do that.
They'd have to improve the state of the club.

777 seems great because they already have a football network set up which could be great for the development of younger players. City's owners have spent years acquiring clubs from around the globe, whereas we can join the 777 group and become their most valuable asset instantly.

Obviously having this network will only really benefit us if we are able to turn ourselves into a successful outfit, but it's probably good to have these additional teams so that we could send promising young players out on loan to competitive leagues instead of them being stuck in the u23s, for example.

Then there's the obvious opportunity to be able to buy and sell players between the clubs. If Genoa have a promising youngster coming through then I'm sure we'd be in prime position to bring him to us at the right time.

Plenty of positives I see.

And if their goal is to ultimately sell the club on for a profit in the future, then they'll know the only way they can achieve that is by investing in the squad so that we can either get promoted if we go down, or climb the table if we stay up.

Thank God its these fellas.

I can finally get rid of this Everton monkey off my back and accept that we will be asset stripped by these utterly clueless Yank clowns.
I'd be seriously worried about their mental capacity if they were paying 600m to asset strip a club, when those assets consist of such gems as gomes, gbamin, Keane, mykolenko, maupay, Davies and Patterson.
