He is. Played a game of footy against him in a corporate friendly thing nearly 20 years ago when the company I worked for then had a tie-up with his - he was pretty decent actually.
They also have a retail outlet near me in Northants if im not mistaken? does all sorts of high end Garden Stuff mega expensive and one of the only Calor Gas suppliers in this area, Although i could be way off with this but they are Called A J Bell! So may be just an Esk Like stab in the dark lol

Erm, I suspect that's a coincidence mate, but I genuinely don't know

Andy Bell is a well-known figure in retail financial services, particularly here in the north west. Also heavily into footy, an Everton fan and used to play a fair bit

See the latter part of the interview here: https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/business/business-news/how-working-class-maths-whiz-14470735

Company he ran (until very recently) are a major competitor to the ones I've worked for over the last 20 years or so. I didn't, until this recent turn of events, realise he'd moved into corporate financing as he has done with this loan to Everton. I'd assume that creates a conflict of interest which would prevent him taking a seat on the board.

and they use "maths" Just saying!

Cheers mate, although he does look familiar facially to one of the "proprietors" of the Northants one? But yes would be a strange coincidence lol!

Could be a decent contact when we need some more mowers

I mean, I do find it hard to believe Moshiri is going to give up a 25% stake for the sake of a 100 million loan. It doesnt make sense. If that was equity it would value the club at 400 million, yet it has to be repaid, so its much worse than that. Its the type of thing you would only do if literally no one else would give you funding(and yet he got a sizeable loan a couple months ago) and you were both desperate and sure the value of the club would skyrocket afterwords.

Id say theres a lot of misinformation going around here and we likely will have to wait another week or so to find out the actual truth.

TBH, I wouldn;t be rushing
It's unclear to me at least how Bell & Downing are working with MSP, or if their respective involvements just happened to coincide.

MSP are not going to be choosing the CEO / Chairman on a 25% stake surely.

I could see a figure like Downing emerging through the middle as a person agreeable to all sides and an Evertonian, but the rumours of Bell as CEO don't make sense to me if it's MSP in the lead position.
As the Arthritic article stated: Bell seems compromised if he's representing two distinct groups with cash in the club.

There are 9 and a half weeks remaining until the first game of the 2023/24 season and it is only 9 days until the transfer window opens and as per usual, Everton have done absolutely nothing, well apart from let a few players leave when their contracts ran out. Not even been one communication from them about how bad we were last season and how we are going to make sure it doesn't happen again. Zilch. If the board is going to be revamped then it needs to be done right now before they are allowed to inflict any more damage to a club that they have already brought to its knees.
