The Everton Board Thread

reading some of the commments in this thread doesn’t half remind you off just how much the game has changed , used to be local businessman come good etc who owned the clubs now youv got oligarchs, dictatorships all
sorts in charge, we were crap when the premiere league started too but at least it was a lot simpler then, should never have been allowed all this
I remember as a kid thinking ‘if I worked really hard and made a load of money I’d buy Everton and buy us all the best players’ and it wasn’t even a completely wild thought at the time

Nowadays, you need to be multi-billionaires or you’ve got no chance and sadly I’m unlikely to break that threshold

The is a significant difference between smart and aggressive business practices and theft and corruption. Usmonov and Mosiri are the latter.
I'm not one to follow or dig into the shenanigans of celebrities or well known people I'll never meet or interact with.

But please educate me by providing your evidence for these accusations. (I'm not bring confrontational here, I genuinely don't know and would like to hear - theres no way i want even agressive businessmen associated with me through a club i follow. I may have to distance myself even further from football).

I think it’s fairly apparent now that Kenwright has chucked his toys out of the pram as usual and is making any sort of smooth board transition to people who might actually succeed where he and his mates have continually failed as painful and as difficult as possible for all involved. I also wouldn’t put it past him to be trying to make sure some of his sycophants are kept on at the club so he can still get all the gossip.

What. A. Chairman.
What. An. Evertonian.

That's exactly it.

10s of millions in his back pocket as 'reward' for taking Everton for European contenders to also rans and latterly, has beens barely surviving.

He had dreams of cutting the ribbon at the new ground, and now that's looking unlikely he's stamping his feet.

He's a shameless, disgusting pig.

Hopefully this all firmly puts to bed any “life president” crap or talk of him having any involvement in the opening of the new stadium. Fella is a disgusting individual who is hopefully hated by every single living Evertonian. Hope he never shows his fat greasy grid at another game in his life.

Nobody ever got rich without making somebody else poorer.
I struggle with this sometimes. I’m not a fan of this specific article due to some of the examples it uses. But it sort of explains how the zero-sum (if I gain it means you simply must lose) concept doesn’t work in economics and why genuine wealth generators increase the wealth of everyone, regardless of their own motives. Obviously even better if their own motives are anything other than greed. As above, it’s a simplistic article, but still interesting. Totally off topic obviously, sorry.

Look at why Usmanov was sanctioned. He didn't get the mining rights nor mobile phone license through legitimate means. Its comes across as a bit silly trying to pretend you don't know what I am referring to.

Yeah but did he rule a regime that beheads people daily including children?

Of course. Ditto Abramovich , Ditto Oil backed owners…I can only imagine that it is somewhat difficult to amass multi billions whilst being scrupulously honest and above board while having regard for your fellow man….

Mike, I'm not normally for this (see Southall et al), but I'd be more than tolerant of Kenwright being publicly persona non grata at Goodison and BMD once he's gone.

He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the Directors' Box, and as I can't see him slumming it in hospitality he will be de facto banned from attending.

I don't want his slimeball antics poisoning any more of this club as we all know he'd continue holding court, meddling in the club and attempting to meddle.

Any new openers (or investors) would be smart to make sure he's forced out into the cold.
