The Everton Board Thread

That is incorrect served on a board for many years
A functioning company must have a board of directors to function properly, decisions have to be made on a daily basis and at this time of year in particular with the transfer in and out of players needing to happen immediately.
There are so many decisions that have to be made regarding administration, finance and the purchase and sale of players.

TBH I think that's the only down-side of today now that the dust is beginning to settle.

  • investment for the stadium in
  • new board in replacing the old one
  • CEO is interim and we'll soon have a new one in...hopefully one with industry profile
  • Moshiri now a non-executive director involved in decisions that effect the day to day running of the club ending his absentee landlord status
I look at that from the perspective a manager who's asked for changes at the top, and that ticks the box.

Yes, Kenwright and this 'transition' period is a fly in the ointment and I hope no one in that club believes he can limp into the director's box next season, because he cant.

All in all, my concern is about 2 forwards, 1 LB and 1 CB. If the changes announced so far make them more likely then so be it.

I’m hoping most of his power base is now gone. His main involvements, from what anyone can tell by information made available to the public, was previously in transfers and his influence over the other board members. He was de facto CEO and director of football without holding either title.

Recent media coverage of the shambles at Everton does seem to have included that Thelwell is now the person picking up the phone for transfers rather than Bill so hopefully that’s one interference removed.

If MSP bring in directors, including in the CEO position that have no historical link to Kenwright then they’ll very quickly get rid of any undue influence he’ll try and exert. At worst he’ll end up as some benign figure head, at best he’ll be removed completely shortly.

An important question I think a lot of us haven’t thought of is, does Bill know the city?
Believe me, its an absolute given that we fans have thought long and hard about what would happen if he was spotted, in the flesh so to say.
It goes without saying that Jabba Kenwright knows only too well what would be likely to occur.

Would the existing shareholders have been notified prior to todays events with regards to the MSP investment and the hopefully very temporary appointments in the boardroom. Be interesting to see if they make a public vote of no confidence in keeping the liar as chairman.

That's a very green view of things.

I see it as:
  • We have confirmation that either Bill has something on Moshiri or Moshiri is simply a complete idiot and needs to be removed now as well.
  • We have a gang of underqualified personnel promoted internally, again, filling seats while we once again failed to get our board in order
  • Moshiri doesn't give a toss about the support

I dont think anything other than Bill leaving will assuage anyone now. The suggestion will always be that while he's here he's interfering.

IMO this cant go beyond the summer. If Moshiri believes a transition period goes beyond that and is trying to allow Kenwright to try and ride this out then he'll be disabused of that very quickly. He should have the PL commission on his mind too, because if the club are continually fighting off its own fans from their charge of dysfunction then that wont go unnoticed and could weigh against us, regardless of the specific of the charges.

How qualified is George Downing in running a football club, or Andy Bell?

Maybe he is keeping Kenwright so he has a fall guy for the commision.
