The Everton Board Thread

Too far back, far too far back, go back 7 years ago and compare too now.
Kenwright on the board, one person, one voice, buck stops at the owner.
What about Rooney sold for £10m upfront when he wasn’t being sold for £50m we all got told, what about the bullens road unable to pass a safety certificate so we’d have to move to Kirkby, what about the £30m he had ringfenced for the kings dock. All glory days ?

Bravo.

If he had any confidence in his board, who the chair no doubt assured him were first class, he'd leave well alone. He's busy enough without worrying about Everton.

No less competent that what was already there. The fact he turned out to be a short tempered loon wasn't a great look, I'll admit that.

Again, a strong chair could have argued patience was needed at times. He did nothing, just sat there with his stool sucking grin.

Ahhhhh. The classic money laundering lie. You do know to launder money you need to take money out, right? Our accounts just show a huge hole swallowing money.

Guess what?

You are an idiot.
Haa loved the finishing touch there. Need to point out the pertinent fact.

Take a look at Everton pre Kenwright. ???? What, you serious, twice we had to get results going our way to stay up, the club was an absolute irrelivance under Johnson, when he bought us nobody else was interested, if he didnt do that we dont stay a top flight side

He was chairman and owner when Moyes finished 17th and Smith stank the place out. ????? What, He was chairman and owner when we came 4th, got into Europe on more then one occasion, do you see us doing that under Moshiri? Because i dont

He was chairman last season and stood by while the owner appointed Benitez. ??????? What? He didnt stand by, he was told staight that Rafael was the new manager and there was nothing he could do about it, meanwhile a lot of the fans made fools of themselves moaning because he supposedly wanted Moyes.... then Bentiez turned up !!!!
What a load of revisionist bollocks. We won an FA Cup under Johnson and had bid £8.5m for Collymore which had he moved to us would have broken the then British transfer record. People also seem to forget (conveniently at times) that Kenwright was a rival bidder for Everton at the time Johnson bought the club. The club back then had more confidence that Johnson had the money and Kenwright stepped back.

I don't think that FFP is preventing us from spending. I think Usmanov has turned the tap off whether it be due to the sanctions against him or he's just lost interest. It means that we are back to the Kenwright days of living off our own revenues and we have indeed reverted to Kenwright era practices, borrowing from the same old dodgy outfits.

Usmanov / Moshiri have NOT been good owners despite the money they have wasted on Everton. They need to be replaced with superior owners. It can be done.

Is there any actual evidence that this is the case?

I know everyone states this and believes it to be true, and that the PL oversee all our transactions. But has there ever been confirmation from the club or PL about this?

There's an awful lot of faith placed on stories spread through the media.

Maybe it is true. I dont know. I only know I haven't seen any confirmation of it.

I stand to be corrected on that, btw.

It is the PL's profit and loss rules that are stopping us from spending. They would have handed out heavy penalties to us had we had kept on losing money. This is common knowledge.

I don't think it is common knowledge, and I definitely don't believe the claim that the PL are overseeing our expenditure any more than they do to other clubs.

We don't know what our profit/loss was for last season. What we do know is other clubs with smaller revenues have been outspending us for several seasons now.

It has been widely reported in the news hence it is common knowledge...

So if the losses haven’t stopped we will be subject to a penalty? Are any other clubs due a penalty? People make these claims but all we see is further expenditure and further losses throughout the premier league.
