The only explanation I have for Moshiri’s approach is that he’s as close as you can get to a benevolent billionaire. *
He chucked money at the club with gay abandon. He bought into Bill’s theatricality around Everton on day one and has never questioned it since. Of course he’s the right guy to keep as chairman - he loves the club etc.
The stadium will be his legacy, I think that probably is an ego thing, but fair enough.
So I can’t fault the guy’s generosity. He’s just a bit dim, I think, and doesn’t realise he is because he’s a billionaire and that means he can’t be dim.
But he is.
* There is of course no such thing. No human being happy to be that disproportionately wealthy could be a fundamentally decent person… but then again, maybe that’s why he’s burning his fortune up at EFC.
