The Everton Board Thread

Here's 25 minutes of Greg O'Keefe trying to defend himself for being Prentice's right hand man in the club's propaganda wing.

Basically confirms Prenno was the one who fed them the BS about the "headlock".

Claims he had to run the allegation in the news but didn't need to bother getting the facts right first.

Spends the rest of it crying over him and Joe Thomas getting abuse for printing the club's lies.

Nothing against you of course, I’d rather listen to the obese couple next door shag than listen to that.

They knew what they were doing, arrogantly they didn’t expect such a backlash otherwise all involved would of reconsidered in the first place.

It's 25 minutes of crying about abuse from fans because he couldn't be arsed doing the basic fact checking of a story he ran as fact.

Thanks for posting that mate i’m Trying to give that a listen now . Instead of an Ian Wright style mea culpa we’ve immediately began what seems a woe is me .

yeah I can imagine. Frankly I think it’s a insult they regard themselves as journalists. The timing stinks, it was strategic and deep down he knows it.

If he had anything about him he would go on a podcast that isn’t one of his mates and would ask him direct questions and pull him up on any inadequacies.

And how kind of them to make that podcast episode free ....

All he had to do was ring the police control room at the ground, who would’ve confirmed in seconds it never happened.

It’s basic journalism, which he knows.

He’s been found out and is trying to deflect the blame.

Maybe, he‘ll think twice now, about pumping club orchestrated lies out, before checking the provenance first.

Very interesting that he uses the phrase "someone said" before giving details about the headlock. Why can't he just say who gave them the info?

He specifically says the Echo did do this and didn't hear anything back but still they ran this headline.

What I'm wondering is when are they all going to be publishing their official retractions and apologies? I've yet to see one.

The attitude that all these journos who got played for a fool by Prenno seem to be putting out is "Yeah, we admit we ran a story and headline of dangerous allegations that painted the Everton support as violent thugs attacking board members on the prompting of our former boss but that's no reason to criticize us on social media".
