The Everton Board Thread

Can someone with better understanding around investment and business answer me this. I’ve been thinking why would MSP invest 105 million to get 25% when if we go down, they could probably get the same 25% share for half the price.
Its an odd one isn't it. We must be in the worst negotiating position ever. Every man and his dog knows we need the capital for the stadium build and if we get relegated their investment takes a bit of a hiding.

Also find it strange that given their apparent professionalism / record in sport investment that they'd get into bed with Moshiri who is a bit of a clown really. His ownership will probably be held up for years as an example of how not to buy and develop a football club.

I sincerely hope they come in and shake up the board. Even better if they bought over the whole thing and punted the lot of them. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if we are kept dangling on a line while they try to negotiate a safer investment elsewhere.

Maybe they're looking for some like a Moshiri who they hope to be able to have influence over without the need to spend hundreds of millions to do it (if Kia Joobachins and Jim White can do it, serious and knowledgeable sports investors should have no problem).

As for the conditions of the investment, who knows. Maybe they are looking for guarantees to be able to increase/decrease their equity to a certain level for a pre-agreed fee in the event of relegation, if they so choose. Protect their investment.

All possible, guess time will tell

"The creation of an independent regulator last month which will give them so-called 'back-stop powers' to prevent takeovers".

Faceless bureaucrats who can pick and choose which owners can buy into which football club - whatever next.

I guarantee this organisation wouldn't prevent some Shiekh buying Man Utd or Liverpool but God forbid if they ever bid for an Everton type club.

saying there that the government could block any sale of Everton due to links to Usmanov. Now I'm sure posters will tell me if I'm wrong, but was this the same government that allowed Abromovich to sell Chelsea ? What's the difference ?
