The fans (a section of them at least) are perhaps the biggest part of the problem here and looks like they may well end up taking the club down
Negative, lacking awareness, entitled - it’s unfortunate
A fan clear out would do a lot to improve the situation I’d have thought
Negative, lacking awareness, entitled.
I think those words accurately describe too many of the people involved in the club, from board to players, and the type of utter dross we have to suffer and bear week to week.
But not the fans.
We start each season with optimism, wondering if we’ll qualify for Europe etc, buying season tickets, paying for sky subscriptions etc so we can follow and support our club.
So to blame the fans for the predicament that the club is in is just ludicrous and, quite frankly, insulting.
Your screen name “Legend Barry Horne” is somewhat ironic here. A player whose most famous achievement for this club was the screamer against Wimbledon in 94 that took the roof off goodison and helped us survive. He was also one of the team that remain the last to lift silverware in the royal blue shirt.
Since then, 27 years ago, we’ve put up with utter dross, with the likes of Kenwright milking the club for all that it’s worth, putting no money in and not backing manager after manager, turning us from a genuinely big club into “plucky little Everton”. And we should be grateful for that? We are to be called “entitled” because we want the club to maintain the standards that it had set and upheld for so long previously?
Despite selling the club, Kenwright sits here still as chairman, overseeing one of the most colossal wastes of money in the history of the game, and leaving this club sliding backwards with the brakes off, whilst the clueless investor that he brought in also has utterly no idea what needs to be done.
To appease the fans and pretend that they have a “genuine footballing brain” on the board, they bring in Sharpie. Jesus. Yes, a great player, a generation ago. But what on earth has he done in football for a quarter of a century??
The club insults us and yet you think we should all sit there clapping, saying “well in lad”, and being positive about everything?
And you think this is all the fault of the fans??
