The fan negativity isn't helping anyone

43 years old, former season ticket holder, and I honestly couldnt be less bothered. Not just Everton and the total shambles that engulfs the club, but the PL in general. Load of overpaid, whining, primadonnas. Pretty much the whole league. Clubs barely have a connection with their fans these days. I think I lost faith a while ago when finishing 4th became more important than winning the FA Cup or league Cup
You could adopt Shamrock Rovers as a distraction. Or.....whisper it....start following GAA hurling and football. No wimps tolerated, and these lads are unpaid but their passion is incredible. If a player goes down it's because he actually can't get up.

Aeroplanes, bottles, general negativity - the fans will end up taking the club down

Can the forum leaders take a lead in injecting some positivity please?

The players will need as much confidence and support as they can get to beat the drop....
How much support do we need to give its the frauds on the pitch not delivering the performances again. Got backed again yesterday is time they give us something back

It was like a wake it was surreal, but we have got 18 games to turn this around. The problem is we haven’t got any real footballers in the team. Bernard for his shortcomings could put a foot on the ball, James could dictate and control the ball, Lucas Digne, Siggardson all gone. You need a mixture of runners and players and we’ve got a team of runners but no ballers, considering our predicament, I would play Godfrey or Braithwaite alongside Mina, We’ve just spent 30 million on 2 young fullbacks. Get them in. A midfield 3 preferably of Allan and Doucoure if fit and Gordon as a 10 in a free role, Finally Richarlison, DCL and Gray up top and have Dobbin, ElGhasi and Townsend cameo roles for these in that order. Maybe Gomes to see games out I’m midfield for fresh legs or give the young kid some minutes. At least we would have a bit of balance in the team with actual attacking threat from the fullbacks.
That has been the problem. Benitez replaced the creative players with runners. You need players that can create. James may not have been the fastest player running wise. He is a very fast player mentally though. Plays ball quick because he is not fast. Dinge was a real thread with crosses and has a great left foot. He takes corners well. Sigerdson had a great season last year. It seemed like Everton was going to have a good season. They had a problem with home games last season but things were on the up and up… enters Benitez and he starts dismantling the creativity and talent on the team and replaces these players with “runners”. You are correct, you need runners and creative players.

The fans (a section of them at least) are perhaps the biggest part of the problem here and looks like they may well end up taking the club down

Negative, lacking awareness, entitled - it’s unfortunate

A fan clear out would do a lot to improve the situation I’d have thought
Negative, lacking awareness, entitled.

I think those words accurately describe too many of the people involved in the club, from board to players, and the type of utter dross we have to suffer and bear week to week.

But not the fans.

We start each season with optimism, wondering if we’ll qualify for Europe etc, buying season tickets, paying for sky subscriptions etc so we can follow and support our club.

So to blame the fans for the predicament that the club is in is just ludicrous and, quite frankly, insulting.

Your screen name “Legend Barry Horne” is somewhat ironic here. A player whose most famous achievement for this club was the screamer against Wimbledon in 94 that took the roof off goodison and helped us survive. He was also one of the team that remain the last to lift silverware in the royal blue shirt.

Since then, 27 years ago, we’ve put up with utter dross, with the likes of Kenwright milking the club for all that it’s worth, putting no money in and not backing manager after manager, turning us from a genuinely big club into “plucky little Everton”. And we should be grateful for that? We are to be called “entitled” because we want the club to maintain the standards that it had set and upheld for so long previously?

Despite selling the club, Kenwright sits here still as chairman, overseeing one of the most colossal wastes of money in the history of the game, and leaving this club sliding backwards with the brakes off, whilst the clueless investor that he brought in also has utterly no idea what needs to be done.

To appease the fans and pretend that they have a “genuine footballing brain” on the board, they bring in Sharpie. Jesus. Yes, a great player, a generation ago. But what on earth has he done in football for a quarter of a century??

The club insults us and yet you think we should all sit there clapping, saying “well in lad”, and being positive about everything?

And you think this is all the fault of the fans??

Expectations from the fans are impossibly high at the moment - you can't get that £500m back, it was badly spent - it is what it is.

We need to support our better players like Richarlison, DCL, Godfrey, Mina, Gray, Pickford, Gordon - sure, they aren't taking us to the champions league, we know that.

Benitez poisoned the team, the fans need to put it back together.

Don't know why anyone is arsed that James has gone, he took the piss out of us and clearly didn't want to be here.

He was working his way out well before benitez came so you can't blame him for it either. Glad he was given the boot.

Agree some creativity wouldn't hurt though but not at the expense of tolerating someone who couldn't care less about us

You seem very angry with the fans here mate. Maybe you should stay away from the forum as it’s a bit unsettling with your negative attitude.

Benitez didn't poison the team. I accept he was going to upset most of the crowd and moshiri should have seen it but it was the fans reaction (even if entirely predictable) that was the driving force behind the negative atmosphere.

I accept the results became terrible but that was largely due to a million problems of which a minimal number were his making. If its solely down to benitez, we should all expect a massive improvement now he's gone shouldn't we?

I don't understand why you'd pay money to go to a game to boo or abuse the entertainment you went to see. Just don't go if you're not going to be a supporter.
Because nobody goes to the game to boo or abuse the players , or the board for that matter.
But when the performances on offer are continuously sub standard then people demonstrate their dissatisfaction.
It’s human natures and it happens in all facets of society from theatre to politics.
But you probably already know this and are just pretending to be a bit thick so you can have a go at Evertonians.

This is a great example - you're valued at '£70m' on here, which suggests you come on here quite a lot and would be considered a dedicated fan

Think of the effort, focus and attention to detail the players are putting in, day in day out

Compare that to the fans - some of whom I expect are pretty lazy and unambitious in their own lives - then just show up with a sense of entitlement, hurling mindless abuse, creating the negative atmosphere the club suffers from - perhaps projecting their own personal inadequacies and frustrations onto the undeserving Everton football players

Is it a Liverpool thing - i.e. as scousers we're just a negative bunch by nature?

Kenwright and Moshiri are putting a huge amount of money and effort into this. Everton have been a top half team for most of the last 20 years. The 'fans' are very lucky to have all this

Until the fan leaders start to take responsibility for their behaviour nothing will change - hopefully the fan board seat will help create better understanding and better fan behaviour top down....
Not entirely sure if this is a pure wind up or if you are actually serious?

That's twice in a day you've resorted to a personal attack like.

Tickets are expensive, and not everyone is doing so well financially these days, to waste money on booing something u paid a lot of money for week in week out seems like a waste of money. If you don't like a movie, you don't pay to go watch it again, your analogy doesn't work.

Supporting a football team is very different to watching a film you crank
