Fallen in to the trap of assuming we're not relegated in May.I agree to give Martinez time to show what he's made of til christmas and re evaluate, if nothing has changed and we are struggling, we need to replace before the Jan transfer window and my choice if any would be villas boas (a proven manager who still has a point to prove in the prem after taking charge of chelsea and spuds and not being given enough time to influence their respective teams due to owners who want instant results!)
I'll say!4th highest net spend actually behind Utd, Arsenal and the [Poor language removed].....but that's totally out of context when you consider net spend over a meaningful period.
I reckon we'll get between 15-20 points, but hey, I'm an optimist.
But done with the best squad of players Wev had since the 80's.
The squad he was left with, with barkley, stones, Barry, Lukaku and McCarthy added to it should always of been doing well. And not just for one season!
I only asked one question: what manager has run up a record PL total for their clubs and then been sacked the following season? I'm sure there must be one, but no one has provided it yet or the details to back it up.
Strange.
You have to be kidding with those parallels?
Swansea were an empty shell when Martinez grabbed hold of that club. He was fundamental to it's rise again.
That's about the only viable example I've seen. But even here the decision to sack him was taken when they were a point above the relegation zone, and it was complicated by Laudrup's mixed messages to the board at Swansea concerning whether he wanted to stay or not.Michael Laudrup took Swansea to their highest ever league position and won their only major trophy. He was sacked the following season.
3 young players(even Ronaldo at their ages was massively inconsistent), one ageing player and a lad who runs a lot and gets tackles in. It's hardly a guarantee of anything is it?
Also, You could day he was left with an ageing defense, poor keeper and average wingers. JUST SAY TO NO TO KNEE-JERKING
Might need to clarify which league. If we don't win the league next year I'm vaulting the lot of you.

He spent 4m on a CB that hasnt made a single first team squad, a new keeper and has loaned or bought terrible wingers, its not like he hasnt had 4 windows to "fix" the squad. He also prefers to leave 1 of the best players in the squad on the bench until 85minutes most games.
Wait what? Alcaraz came on a free, unless you're talking wages.
I'm not Davek but yes he would.@davek quick yes or no
If Sean Dyche keeps Burnley up this season will he have done a great job with them?
