Christ knows why he's buying us then for 650m😃

Point was that neither Everton nor Roma would have a "pecking order" if run independently. A pecking order suggests that he would continue to pump money into either over a prolonged period of time. Sure, there are people running "multi club" models with a hierarchy, but nothing but fear and lack of creative thought suggests that Friedkin has the same motivation/model for Everton and Roma.

Although fear and lack of creative thought are not in short supply on this fine forum during these fine days.

If he can reduce the debt, bring increased sponsorship deals with American connections and above all else, bring stability to the club in the short term, I think he’ll have done well. After that huge decisions need to taken regarding the manager, a DOF and investment in the playing squad to make us really competitive will be more difficult in the long term.
Will be something the will be looking at see if thelwell fits the right profile they want. And honestly i am 50/50 on him has done good and bad things in his time here in a difficult positon but like everyone at the club they must check good enough to stay and take this club into the future

We have no other option than to see how this rolls out now. But we should all start out as being very sceptical.

It's like the last 8 years of turmoil never happened and most people here think there's every chance that this takeover will set us right. The overwhelming chances though are that it won't.

We needed a massive step change to get us out of the position we're in. This isn't it.

This time there is no Kenwright and his "boys"
in the background muddying the waters, we have to hope against Hell that they bring in professionals to run it. Friedkin is also quoted as leaving it to his team to run and not interfere unlike Moshiri, who couldn't stop interfering.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up👌

Go back 3 months on here and it was all doom and gloom.. half thought we would go extinct if we got relegated, there were plenty thought Easyjet FC would finish above us.
The talk was we had £1bn in debt and no cash to keep the lights on, and no one would ever want to buy us.
777 was the only hope and everyone agreed they would 100% strip the hell out of the club and stadium.
Now we have a reputable bidder, who has offered to pay off a lot of our vampire creditors and restructure debt over longer terms on lower interest, and yet we are going to turn our noses up at them.
As it stands we cant have our cake and eat it, don't start putting ourselves above our level through greed.. take our medicine and hopefully Friedkins restructure the whole club for the better and we can look back on the stadium build as a necessary noose around our neck for a relative short period of time in our clubs existence.
