The Moyes legacy: reflections.

Any regret on being anti Moyes?

The timing of his exit was dictated by Ferguson’s retirement and nothing more.

No doubt plenty of Toffees were happy to see him go, but he didn’t leave because of them.

I still think it was right for both parties. Letting him go wasn’t the mistake. Neither, really, was Martinez. That was a gamble that could’ve paid off.

Koeman and Walsh, and the Rooney summer. That’s what set us on this course.

Happy Birthday.

I can’t get his big grin running up the steps to take the United job while still Everton manager but I have to put my petty nature and spite away to think more reasonably.

Let’s be honest Everton have never replaced him and there’s lessons in that to use as a platform for fixing the club in the future. Moyes’ style of pragmatism works much better at generating authenticity with the fanbase. His hard working point to prove signings and his crushing of ego for the good of the team works infinitely better than Everton’s experiment at being rich and signing fancy bums.

Which begs the question, do some of those who cried for his departure and perhaps - some would say hastened it - now feel any remorse.

Evertonians begged for wealth and it left us open to a predators who have poisoned us from within.

No poll, only humility and openness here.
His 'Good' points...for a given value of 'good' - got us 5th-ish on occasion
His 'Bad' points...for a given value of 'bad' - stopped us going any further (and maybe a lack of cash at key moments)

Yup. Do people honestly think he would have left had it not been for the fact he couldn't sign players he wanted to push us higher? Pretty sure he couldn't even sign players at times we were so rooked.
He’d have left for Utd regardless. Very difficult to turn down the top job at what was (if not still is) one of the top clubs in world football.

He worked wonders on a shoestring.

In the final season, the team was very close to breaking into the top four. With some finding at that point. he could have brought success.

His performance at WHU makes me very envious.

Moyes worked within a tight budget recruitment was not lazy it had to be done the right way
He never worked under Moshiri so who is to say that he would not of suffered the same fate as the managers since
would he of had the same control he had probably not
