The first line of that is totally irrelevant.
The rest a case can be made for
I disagree.
Obviously not the sole reason to give him the job but it's a tick in the plus column.
The only silverware picked up by Everton in my lifetime was won by managers who'd played for the club.
Since Royle, we've had about 10 full time Managers who havent played for the club and won squat.

He played for Everton
He won a European trophy with the England U21s
He's managed the mens international team.

I'm not saying he's the answer but I think he'd do a better job than Dyche.
Think it is hard to say. It would be a massive risk to take Carsley. I like his positive play but we have to remember as England manager he has the best players in the country to choose from and not what is given to him. I would take a gamble on him if we were a mid-table team and going nowhere but near relegation places is too much for me.

yup, that I agree with.
There are a host of managers I'd take before him
But if he was appointed, I wouldn't be devastated.
I'd like to see him with David Weir or even Moyes as DoF.

The fact we have won nothing is for me nothing to do with whether the manager has played for us or not. It's a whole other multitude of problems .
One of the biggest been the utter carnage caused by having a super blue as chairman for years.

Completely different kettle of fish managing at international level.

Also, don't really care if he had success wit the u21's. Steve Cooper won the World Cup with the u17's. Not a terrible manager by any means, but I can't see many advocating him, even though he's more proven than Carsley.

I get that but I just think, having played for Everton, and in Carsleys case, had it be the pinnacle of your playing career, is no bad thing and definitely counts for something.

TFG haven`t got anyone lined up... Everyone knew Ranieri was the new Roma way before it was announced.

We deserve eveything we get if our own fans are wanting managers like Moyes, Carsley and Dyche, absolutely beggars belief.

You've made the point a few times there would be noise/leaks of their intent.

I disagree.

They hired Mourinho when nobody expected it.

They sacked de Rossi when nobody expected it.

You say everyone knew it was Ranieri who'd go to Roma, eventually - but most of the media reports/consensus was it would be Mancini. Ranieri was wrapped up pretty quickly by comparison.

TFG have a reputation for keeping things very quiet;

- Few words. They simply don't speak, don't get interviewed, don't talk to anybody. I read the official statement about the Everton purchase and it's almost the same statement they made for Roma. These will be the last words you'll hear directly from them.

- Out of nowhere decisions. Since they don't speak, journalists are clueless about their moves. Everytime it's a big surprise. For example, nobody had linked Roma with Mourinho until the official statement was published on asroma.com.

Oh, you mean @ForeverEverton is telling porkies again?

Just have a feeling Mancini could be earmarked.

What an appointment that could be, provided he hasn't mentally checked out after years of international management/money grab.
Yeah think would be the same list they had for roma. Terzic potter mancini Allegri potter ect

Be shocked if this has not been talked about them not a chance you put this amount of money. Without having a plan moving forward and same with dof they will be looking at both positions. Also carsley is highly rated is a risk but similar to arteta could just need a chance to show he is a good manager. Moyes for me is just a short term if we couldnt get a long term manager in right now if they did want dyche out like they have done with ranieri. For me every fan can have a manager they want it does not make them wrong is no real stand out choice for me

I agree it's a risk but if you look at the Premier League 'experienced' managers we've hired (Rafael, Big Sam, Dyche) it's not that much of a risk. The last Manager we employed without experience of the premier league was Moyes and he didn't do bad, granted he'd had a few seasons in the Championship. Carsley has proved himself to be a good coach and has a good reputation in coaching circles as had Moyes. To be honest I just want to enjoy going to the game again and I'd be happy with any manager/coach who looks like he's trying to win the game and at looks like he has an idea tactically. I actually think he could get something out of this squad, it's got more promise than it's currently showing.
