He's a multiple title winning manager.

He's out of contract.

I think remaining a Premier League team, under new ownership with the promise of transfer/investment - he's top tier of what could be attainable.

I bet he also smells great and has trendy coats.

Backed massively at Inter to succeed and due to this buying titles City hired him.

Since then only been 1-2 years at any club. Won against England in the final but also failed to qualify for a tournament & flopped in Saudi.

Potter or McKenna for me though an Italian manager could be interesting.

Lina Souloukos relationship with De Rossi was soured in the summer when she refused the appoint of Freeric Massara and Nicola Burdisso.

Soulouko was trying to power grab in Rome by appointing people to posts that she had worked with in the past; she wanted Palladino as manager, alongside former Forrest technical director Modesto - who she worked with in Greece

Believe it or not, but executives at other clubs are actually allowed to do what they are paid to do without the interference from crackpot owners and their fat mates on yachts in Monaco

Not only those "she worked with in the past" also those all working with (i think) her agent who was also the agent of centre back Mancini and several other players.

The last manager was brought in due to this reason.

She also didnt support De Rossi with any players he wanted or any focus on certain types of players he wanted.

It looks like shes a flop.

There's surely an argument that 'picking favourites' is exactly what Carsley did. He just picked his favourites rather than Southgate's favourites.

I think it's worth remembering that Carsley's coaching career so far doesn't really give any indication at all as to how he would approach the job at a Premier League club. The fact he's worked with junior groups at international level does not automatically mean that he would want a load of kids in the squad in a club environment, it's exactly the same logic that had people assuming Lampard would make Kyle John and Lewis Warrington first team regulars because he'd picked Reece James and Mason Mount at Chelsea.
Maybe, but Carsley has given full debuts to 8 players in his few games in charge, so aside from a core of a few senior players, he has used his squads. It might have taken Southgate years to do that with him constantly picking the same team over and over. It used to do my head in with the pre-tournament international friendlies, he would play the same players. Literally an opportunity to try out fringe players for free and he'd pick Maguire, Henderson, the full regular 11.

Just have a feeling Mancini could be earmarked.

What an appointment that could be, provided he hasn't mentally checked out after years of international management/money grab.

The job he did taking City to the title is overlooked because of the Aguero last minute goal. He still took all those playera and turned them into a team capable of beating Untied to the punch despite years of inferiority complexes.

He’d be a great appointment in my view, has done it in the PL, Serie A, and at international level. I’d be confident of a decent cup run with him at the helm at least.

As i posted earlier.

Chequebook manager at Inter got him the City job as a chequebook manager.

Hows he suitable for Everton after Saudi and Italy recent roles?

Id prefer another Italian.

….Carsley reminds me of Colin Harvey; a terrific, innovative coach who players love working with and playing for but is not comfortable with the pressures and profile of a top management role. Also, we know Carsley has a child (I dare say almost adult these days) with Downs Syndrome and he was reluctant leaving his midlands base.

The thing is with playing fringe players or youngsters is that they have to be good enough and it’s much easier doing that at international level with players established at their clubs and who you’ve worked with previously. That doesn’t particularly lend itself to club football.

He’s tactically very strong and is a disciplinarian. He did very well to win that euros with an Italy team that was not vintage. I’d take a season or two of him just raising the bar and giving us a chance in the cups.

How are we paying his wages, City had to circumnavigate the rules to pay them?
