He is more pragmatic than Dyche and a far, far better tactician ( but who isn’t ).
Maybe he will segue into Dyche’s limited style better? Improving its effectiveness without too much disruption.
A transitional manager?
Just supposition and guesswork at present .
And if he could pick up regular points playing that style of football, then it’s easier to tolerate. It’s when your playing this way and barely getting any points that it becomes a problem.

Exactly my point. Think after Dyche it might be tough to get fans on the side of a similarly pragmatic and defensive manager, even if he is undoubtedly a far far better manager than Dyche.

Relationship between the fans and the team/club is so non-existent atm its worth considering what fans really want to see to repair that relationship. Personally I just want to be able to enjoy watching the game again, as well as obviously seeing improvements in results.

I got your point I personally wouldn't want Allergi, my choice is if we were to get an out of work coach it would be Sergio Conceicao he would demand more from our players and wouldn't put up with losing or shall I say 'acceptable losses' which proves what kind of mentally this club currently has

Interesting that we've been linked to Paratici and now Allegri. Seems the most likely out of the names we've seen so far.

Not sure how I would feel about it really. He's a experienced manager with pedigree. Million miles better than Dyche.

He has also been accused of being too defensive, old fashioned and stubborn though.
His defensive old-fashioned stubborness is called catenaccio, though.

If we sign Allegri, we are a properly serious club because he is top class and won't be coming to us for the view of the Mersey...

We need to add some continuity to our recruitment. While the next manager will surely be backed big in the market, we can't keep swinging from attacking, tiki-taka types to dour pragmatists on each subsequent appointment.

While Dyche has little in common with somebody like Allegri, the transition would make some sense for as long as the new manager has to contend with the squad of cloggers we currently have.

This is what we keep doing and need to stop, stick to a certain type and keep the transition from manager to manager to a bare minimum

Massive cache with Allegri, with cash behind us i'd be confident we'd improve season on season.

It'll be Graham Potter

Most likely and perhaps the easy option.

I work with a Portuguese lad who's a massive Porto fan. He was telling me about Conceicao, just with the links to him should Dyche get the boot. Apparently he's a very passionate guy, to the point that he going into a full on rage if his team is losing! Even in training, he's capable of going fully mad if its not 110% effort and commitment. He said that if he does come to the Premier League, the league will never be the same again! Sounds like a proper nutter... ;)

Think he was a bit of a hot head as a player.

Allegri would be brilliant. Rumour mill desperados on the internet are trying to link him with West Ham, Newcastle and even Roma, who have just installed their third manager of the season.

My understanding is that he’s had no previous connection to Roma, and if Roma were actually after him they would have appointed him during their recent managerial search.

So what we do know is:

He’s in England.
He’s hanging about with people that attend Roma matches.
He’s learning English!

He’s clearly on his way to Everton!

We'd be able to attract some Italian players with a big name like him as manager.

It'll be Graham Potter
I think you're right there. It's odds on to be someone out of work so either him or Moyes.

I'd make Potter favourite but if they took a similar view as with the Roma situation in appointing Ranieri, then who knows. I don't think Moyes would accept a short-term contract though.

Conceicao is an option I like, as is Kovac but my hunch is that they would be more risk averse with the position we're in.

Whoever we appoint we need this type of attitude, a complete unwillingness to accept second best.
