So I don’t mean you , this is a general point on revisionism. There are a lot of blues , again not pointing at you , who’ve forgotten that we had the same points as now and we’d just been battered by the RS who should have had more .

I think silva was let down with recruitment and I think he’s improved since leaving us , I liked the point on the blue room that if he’d gone to Fulham before us he’d probably have been a much better manager . Silva is doing really well at Fulham but from my recollections he wasn’t pulling up any trees here .

My memory of Silva will be him stood on the sidelines melting under the pressure at Goodison shortly before he got sacked. Way too big a job for him at the time with the pressure

Don't forget though he nearly walked away the other summer when they wouldn't let him spend what he wanted, he is not adverse to throwing his toys out the pram is Silva.

That’s sort of my point , that I’m stealing from the blue room , it was maybe the wrong time for him . Im also not saying some people didn’t want him to stay but I honestly can’t recall any real discontent when he got the bullet , especially not after playing a high line at the pit and getting ruthlessly exposed .

Silva is one of the most underrated managers in the league. At Fulham, he’s consistently exceeded expectations, particularly given that many initially predicted they’d go straight back down due to a weak squad. Instead, he’s methodically built a team capable of competing with anyone, quietly doing his job without much fanfare.

I don’t think we should go back, to be honest. However, the fact that Moyes is leading the poll suggests most people are okay with the idea.

I was surprised they could replace Palinha and Mitrovic so easily.

Yeah a lot of getting the right mdnsger in is about timing. Too early he's not ready or will look to jump ship soon as something better crops up, too late they can be jaded and in the downslide.

Factor in styles suit certain clubs mentality of the fans more and it's not an easy thing to get right (and the bigger or more historic the club the more difficult that balancing act becomes).

Fair play, would be actually better a better CEO in that regard then?
Possibly, its confusing to see what his role has been anywhere tbh, at Brighton it was more structure based, Blooms Starlizard company do all the data and recruitment research, Newcastle seemingly it was a combo of him and Howe's nephew who is some sort of scout and at Utd it appears Jason Wilcox was in charge of recruitment but Utd have a CEO, Sporting Director, Director of Football, and a Technical Director so hell knows what they all do each day.

I think that if you take the City example, you can see the effect of Rodri missing.

I wanted us to sell Gana (which Brands did) and the €30mil fee was insane at the time.

He was replaced by Gbamin and Delph.

I am, to this day amazed Brands signed Delph. Although, was it really his signing?

Gbamin may have been a super DM but Silva threw him in when all the vocal 'experts' were saying he was not fully recovered from a previous injury and not match fit by a stretch.

Was Brands at fault or Silva, a bit of both or just bad luck?

Personally at the time I didnt question Gbamins signing but combining both fees and wages I'm sure we could have signed one brilliant DM to replace Gana.

Silva's downfall was the lack of any servicable DM.

How do you know he’s a fantastic coach? Hardly any managerial experience and if he never played for Everton you wouldn’t mention him. We need to get away from this jobs for the boys
I just thought he did well for England. The U21's won Honour's didn't they. For the England senior team they played quite well under him but had that bad defeat against Greece . His comments with the media didn't help. After that we had a few of these media clown's saying they didn't rate him and he wasn't up for the Job. Then my first choice to be the new Everton Boss goes and lands the England job. Thomas Tuchel. Can't Win can you. It's a fantastic Job whoever gets it. Onwards Evertonians.
