The Pienaar situation

I personally think we will take Pienaar on another years loan.
Spurs will try to get another year from Bale before selling him for big money.
They might just want to keep Pienaar on their books for the following season rather than selling him for too little cash to us.

From what I can see, Pienaar really doesnt fit into Spurs system at all, which is odd, cos hes a quality player.

never been given a chance, I always thought him and ekottu down the left would be a good match, but pienaar was always injured when he got his chance

Even more reason to get rid of a squad player on 70k a week, which seems to be the consensus on any deal as they need to afford Adebayor's and Modric's wages (to keep them) according to ITK's

thats the thing tho, they need to get rid of dos santos and krancjar aswell, but cant get a high enough fee for them, I cant see them just shifting pienaar to get rid of him, isnt their style

the crouch deal nearly fell through becuase of the fee, 10m for crouch ffs.

Unless Pinnear was part of a handshake deal for Saha, I doubt they will just him just let him walk. 'Arry hated Pav (for some strange reason I thought he was their best striker) and yet didn't sell him to Brum for 9M even though that's just about what they paid for him. Plus if they get C-League footie they might need depth and will have plenty of money to keep him. He held on to Bentley (who was making more than Pinnear) as well. I don't think he'll be back in the fall, January maybe.

Steven Pienaar's agent insists his client is not looking beyond the end of this season as far as his future goes. The South African remains a Tottenham player after moving to White Hart Lane last year but returned to Goodison Park in January on loan after failing to break into the first team under Harry Redknapp.

Back in the familiar environs at Everton, Pienaar has returned to the electric form that made him a crowd favourite in his first spell and that has led to talk of David Moyes re-signing the 30 year-old on a permanent contract.

Rob Moore reveals, however, that no talks have taken place regarding the players' future, that despite whisperings that a deal was arranged in principal between Spurs and Everton in January to bring Pienaar back to Goodison full time this summer.

Moore acknowledges that Pienaar's style is more suited to Everton and that returning to a club he loves was the key reason why he chose the Blues over two or three other loan options in January. Nothing is concrete, however.

"There have been no discussions about him staying there permanently or about him leaving Tottenham," Moore says.

"Steven is not looking past the end of season — he just wants to do the best he can do for Everton and make sure his name is spoken about in the way his ability deserves, as he has been doing."

Hmm i wonder did he change agent, remember that creep Ivan Modia who represented him when he left.

agent is just keeping the options open... probably got a nice signing on fee going to spurs, would likely get another one if he joined us... see if Harry stays or if Spurs get champion league next season...

Fenerbace didn't want to buy Yobo in the end I think, if we wanted Pienaar, which by most accounts Moyes does, then presumably Spuds would be required to allow us to talk to him.

I have some good contacts in the supporters club there -- they did want yobo but seems like we wanted the agreed fee and they wanted to pay less....or we moved the goalposts.

He played a few times and looked a shadow of the Pienaar we see in blue.
.

He really did, I personally think that his World Cup and 2010/11 Everton form was very poor, and he seemed to carry that over when playing for Spurs.

Looks completely re-invigorated back here now though, I love it.
