Steven Pienaar's agent insists his client is not looking beyond the end of this season as far as his future goes. The South African remains a Tottenham player after moving to White Hart Lane last year but returned to Goodison Park in January on loan after failing to break into the first team under Harry Redknapp.
Back in the familiar environs at Everton, Pienaar has returned to the electric form that made him a crowd favourite in his first spell and that has led to talk of David Moyes re-signing the 30 year-old on a permanent contract.
Rob Moore reveals, however, that no talks have taken place regarding the players' future, that despite whisperings that a deal was arranged in principal between Spurs and Everton in January to bring Pienaar back to Goodison full time this summer.
Moore acknowledges that Pienaar's style is more suited to Everton and that returning to a club he loves was the key reason why he chose the Blues over two or three other loan options in January. Nothing is concrete, however.
"There have been no discussions about him staying there permanently or about him leaving Tottenham," Moore says.
"Steven is not looking past the end of season — he just wants to do the best he can do for Everton and make sure his name is spoken about in the way his ability deserves, as he has been doing."
