Absolute laughing stock. The poverty of ambition appears in marked contrast to their financial wealth.
The appointment of Moyes is an astoundingly conservative, backward-looking move. I hope they frame a picture of Kenwright for the trestle table when they hold the press conference so the "new" manager can pay tribute to the guiding spirit of Everton as he continues to dictate events from beyond the grave.
The way I see it is they do want a progressive, ambitious managerial appointment but they’re wanting someone who’s in a job at the moment. So the logical step is to get someone who knows the club and is relatively low risk, like they’ve done at Roma with Ranieri. We have new ownership who have restructured the debt to buy us a bit of transfer wiggle room and a new stadium move incoming. Shouldn’t the accompanying managerial appointment have a similar level of ambition?
Even were that calibre of coach to knock us back then why not go for one of the ones doing well in the championship? The lad from Sheff Wed or Carrick would be better shouts than Moyes.
“Christ, he’s big and bald!”I don't remember that.
I remember when Klopp went after Dyche down the tunnel, then shat his skids when Dyche turned around.
I'm not that bad yet, mate.Absolute laughing stock.
What if we wanted one of those two and they said nah not leaving my job in January? None of us know what’s going on behind the scenes. Can’t pick and choose what to criticise.
New owners, new stadium, it’s all sounding good but we also have PSR problems and a wank squad.
“Hey come get us out of 17th with Beto up top. You don’t need to wait for a Juventus gig again Max”
I have a lot of time for Moyes. He obviously did well with us, we were a hard to beat and a well respected team when he managed us. But I don't think we should look back. It would be a very Everton, sentimental, move to have him back. It rarely works out.
All very well to say “what if we tried and failed?” but did we try?!What if we wanted one of those two and they said nah not leaving my job in January? None of us know what’s going on behind the scenes. Can’t pick and choose what to criticise.

If we made ambitious moves and got knocked back and THEN reached for the safety net then fine. Crap, but fine, it’s an understandable sequence of events.
It seems, though - and not for the first time I could be wrong - that we’ve FINALLY binned off the latest purveyor of turgid football to darken our stadium, only to go running straight for Uncle Davey.
As stated, might all work out boss and be the first step in a master plan that takes us to the stratosphere but right now I feel proper badly let down.
All depends on the contract length for me. If this is a Ranieri type thing in which Moyes is just here to tuck us in safely and snuggly into the new stadium, then I’m right on board. If it’s a 3 year contract then that’s not as good.I have a lot of time for Moyes. He obviously did well with us, we were a hard to beat and a well respected team when he managed us.
