I'm with you on this. The best players don't have to tackle because their positioning is spot on.

I'm always suspicious of your carragher types who chase back ten yards and throw a last ditch tackle in.

Tony hibbert became an legend with some fans for doing that. His positioning is awful.

Yes really, a great player intercepts the ball rather than slides in, this saves the risk of a booking and more chance of a goal.

Ok, 7th on the list of best tacklers is Arteta, 9th is Ramires and an honorable mention goes to Cabaye. They're some of the best players in the league. Why are they tackling rather than intercepting?

Gareth Barry - Loan
Mohamed Sissoko - Free

Yes please.

Also noticing Aly Cissokho seems to join RS. He was my choice as a replacement for Baines. Hopefully we'll be able to keep Baines, which looks certain at the moment.

Let's look at it another way.

Diame. Age 26. Fee £3.5m. Wages £2.6m pa.
Barry. Age 32. Loan fee ? Wages £5.5m pa.

*wages sourced from google.

So, say the loan fee for Barry is £600k to make the maths simple they'd both cost £6.1m for the year but we'd own Diame and he'd have a sell on value.

Obviously if the loan deal involves us paying barry's full wages, we shouldn't take it. That's a no brainer.

I think we will for sure keep Baines, Felli, to be honest I don't really care at this point the funds we could get from him are looking more and more appealing, he just isn't giving 100% anymore and doesn't really seem like he even wants to stay.

Bit harsh judging him for not giving 100% in pre season, though?

Judge him on he plays tomorrow.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...vid-Moyes-confident-landing-Everton-star.html

Manchester United manager David Moyes is increasingly confident of signing Marouane Fellaini, while the Everton midfielder is also set on a move to Old Trafford.

There then follows an article where there is absolutely no reason given at all for Moyes 'becoming increasingly confident of signing Fellaini'.

Not for the first time of late, this Chris Wheeler guy writing for the Daily Fail is chatting absolute pro-Man Utd propaganda-driven garbage.

17 days to go.... no bids, no enquiries. Player not agitating for a move.

No chance we'd pay Barry's full wages and I doubt he'd cost a loan fee.

Your right, don't get me wrong I hope he kills it tomorrow and blows me away, either way he still gets the job done at 70% which just shows his potential. On the other hand I don't want us to wait too long and be able to do nothing with the funds we get from him if it comes to that.
